Rolex Explorer II 216570 BD or The Frog Had to Go!

Hello, dear watch community,

I would like to introduce you to my new addition. It is the new Rolex Explorer II 216570 BD with a diameter of 42 mm and a black dial. I got it from a nice member of a neighboring forum. It is from 01/2021, has an LC EU and was still completely glued.
How did that come about? I actually only wanted to get it for my next big birthday. But that is still 6 years away.
I liked the previous version a lot too, but unfortunately it was a bit too small for me with a diameter of 40 mm.
My little one, a Submariner 16610LV from 2010, which used to be my dream watch but didn't get enough wear time due to its 40 mm, also had this diameter.

When this EXII was launched in 42 mm, the hunting fever was back. I tried it on twice at the dealer. If anything, it had to be the one with the black dial. But I didn't have the necessary cash.
The months went by and I noticed that EXIIs in mint condition could be had for significantly less than the new price. At some point they ended up in regions that even made exchanging my frog for a new EXII seem realistic.
It didn't quite work out, but almost.
I was able to sell the frog and the EXII was suddenly within reach.

But see for yourself, here is my new Explorer II. The film on the back cover has to stay. Unfortunately I've already scratched one of the covers quite badly and it doesn't bother me when I wear it.
I don't know if this is the Exit Watch. I would also like to call a Breitling Navitimer my own at some point. But that's definitely over for now.
Please excuse the quality of the pictures. But I'm just a photographer and it was already dark outside.

Best wishes

Congratulations. The white dial version was my first Rolex and still one of my all time favourites.

Great model! Really like my Polar ExpII, 42mm. Rolex last true "tool" watch.
Wear in great health!

Love it. The polar gets all the hype. I had one for that reason. But the black is a really nice watch.
