pulling the day date trigger

Should I? I have always wanted one. I am not getting younger. You can't take it with you. You only live once. What else are you going to spend it on? It's "just a watch". You 'earned it'. You spent what?!? It marks a milestone. what anybody else thinks. Tony Soprano wore one. Nobody notices and nobody cares. It's only money. The Dalai Lama wore one. You will smile every time you check the time. It will appreciate. A fool and his money... The coin said heads! It might become my daily. The coin said tails. I will only wear it on special occasions. My casio only cost $20 and keeps better time. Who wears a wrist watch these days? A 2024 apple watch will be obsolete in 10 years. That bracelet.

Did I miss any?

Can you change the dial at service?

A great choice!

(Tho I’d 100% have an independent do the work, so as to keep the original dial - They’re not making any more!)

I love my sleeve-polished 18239

It’s a beautiful reference. If you find one in great condition, don't think twice about buying it.

I would say yes, but not the one you chose. My 2c is DD functions better as a statement piece, and should always be YG (or platinum with ice blue dial). The one youre talking about looks almost EXACTLY like a DJ36. But if you love it, go for it.

Maybe. I have owned DD watches in WG before and they are nice. My biggest issue with any DD model from any generation is the fit. With only the ability to adjust the watch through adding or removing links it is difficult to dial the fit in to be exactly right everyday. Watches with the Glide Lock or Easy Link have spoiled me and it is difficult to go back. In the Rolex PM field the DD's offer some of the best value but I would consider a Submariner or the Yacht Master. One of our Trusted Seller has a YG Yacht Master with the white dial for 20k. Good luck and let us know what you decide.

Sounds like you’ve justified it All that’s left to do is go get it! It’s a great watch IMO. I personally would go dd40, but that’s just personal preference

Day-Date is a watch that can be considered as an achievement. I don't know if that is the watch fro be wearing every day. Naturally it depends on what kind of work you do but probably you have also other watches so this could be a good addition on your collection.

If you want it and can afford it without sacrificing other more important priorities, do it.

Life is short.
