No Date Sub just arrived for me in Honolulu

I filed an "expression of interest" in acquiring a Rolex No-Date Sub 6 weeks ago at the Rolex Botique in Honolulu. Picked it up yesterday. Nice watch.

Across the 6 weeks, I stayed in contact my SA 4 times.

Everything went smooth. I can recommend this store. All employees there very nice, friendly, and professional.

They had every model in the cases, of course, "Exhibition Only", but the SA said the safe was full of a wide variety of watches, and that they just go "down the list" and that works very well.

Also mentioned that they defer to "locals".

Overall, very pleasant experience....

Congratulation. The No-date Sub is definitely a stunning piece.
How did you stay in touch with your SA over the 6 week period? Texting? or did you come in the store 4 times?

Congrats! I put interest down with them for the 40mm explorer 1 and haven’t heard from them. This was almost like 5 months ago so who knows. Guess I should follow up with them.

Yes, the follow-up is most important at that store, because of the sheer numbers of people coming in each day. I kept up with my SA via text and phone call - he actually called me. Each SA is equipped with a Company cell phone, and they will give you that number so you can contact them as necessary.

Just my opinion.

Congrats on a great watch.
Now going forward, remember you bout a Submariner, as opposed to a Submariner Date.

So true, in retrospect, buying many watches over the past 50 years was largely unnecessary. I might have been completely satisfied with my original Submariner and one dress watch?! Oh well, it has been fun…

Which AD was this--Ben Bridge or Tourneau?

Ben Bridge in Honolulu is the second worst AD I've ever been two--both visits in 2021 and 2023. So incredibly rude. That said, it's probably the most stunning in appearance with the incredible décor.

It's the Tourneau store, right in the heart of Waikki, across the street from Dukes. Sometimes referred to as: The Rolex Store, at the International Market Place.

You might request to speak with Kevin, and fill in a new "expression of interest" form - take your time, tell a good story !

Are you local, or did you call ahead?

I got a Sub LV from Tourneau in Maui by calling ahead a few months in advance. First purchase with them. Just got lucky by having my SA be the GM of the store. A week or so before I was leaving for vacation, I got the text that it arrived and to phone in payment for collection in person when I got there. It was the highlight of my trip!

Local, personally went into the Store for initial contact, then text and calls, after that to stay current with SA. . . .

The SA was interested in commercial aviation, and I was a veteran Captain at AAL for 39 years . The SA WANTED to talk aviation, and I was happy to talk about it with him. There was no imposition at all on either side.

A fun and interesting relationship with a smart, friendly, and professional SA.

What else could you ask for ?

My experience was excellent at Tourneau Waikki Beach, across the street from Dukes... every model in the displays, your job, get one out of there and on your wrist !

Awesome! I was imagining four calls of “Hi, just calling to see if a sub has come in yet” in a short time
