A used Daytona is second hand and you pay more than for a new one.

Only advantage is having it tomorrow since you cannot buy a new 116500 at an AD.

Well yeah I just meant as far as used vs new
Like someone else wore it and who knows what that watch has been through etc etc

Something about buying new...thats all...used there is a bit of a discount but for $1000ish....IDK

if you go through a trusted seller, you really don't have anything to worry about. very unlikely that you're going to run into unforeseen issues with the watch.

Yeah I guess so

Im just deliberating whether to get an unworn 2023 116500 for 28k or get a used older one for less maybe 26500 or more Seems like the value Is.in the 2023

Im sure its hard to find worn 126500s now anyways and those would be more than 116500 unworn

Given the market, $28k for an unworn (assuming it truly IS unworn) 116500 is actually not terrible. Personally, I'd opt for a "slider condition" worn one for the $26500 price.

Advantage to what? 116 isn't in production anymore so your only option is to go to the secondary market.

Compared to the 126, you’ll have it tomorrow which is great. Also like the lack of a stainless steel ring on the 116 series. Definitely buy from one of the popular sellers as there are fakes galore.

Nothing wrong with getting a pre owned watch. It will get you what you want and when you want it

Buy a stickered 116500 although you'll pay a premium

My example is a little different; a Submariner. I purchased a used, well-worn, 14060 about seven years ago. Because it already had some bumps and bruises, I’ve not been afraid to wear it nor have I felt the need to baby it. It’s a wonderful thing. It easily gets the most wrist time in my collection.

Some models just look better with some honest wear (IMHO).

Downside is if you are a low impact owner and those sort of things bug you, then you’ll still pine for a more pristine example. I’ve got examples of both in my collection.

As with all (most) of my used Rolex watches, I had it RSC serviced.

Are you able to buy one new from an AD. If so, go that way. If not, the only way you will get the watch is to pay more money for a used one and have it. Only you can decide if the upcharge is worth it to you. This assumes you are "buying" the used watch seller and getting a complete genuine product.

Lot's of dealers write "in unworn condition" but I think that's a bit misleading. It's either worn or not; judge for yourself by looking at pictures. See what their return policy is.

In any case, it's just a used watch and not a used kidney. It will wear the same as a new watch, don't overthink it.

I guess for me its a S pile of money...for a luxury item.

LOL I can buy one hell of a used car for 28k!

Are you going to wear this or safe queen it? I don't see the point in paying a premium for unworn and stickered if you are going to take those stickers off and use it

True true

But

its 2023 so the Rolex warranty is very fresh and the watch is in 'unworn' condition

for like 1k or so maybe its worth getting it in this condition....
