My Son’s First Rolex

Thrilled to finally share this special milestone with the forum!

I’ve been working with an AD to secure milestone watches for my kids, and after months and months of planning, I can finally post about it! A huge shoutout to Polachecks in Southern California—an amazing AD that made this process seamless and enjoyable.

I have three terrific kids, all fine young adults. Each one is approaching a significant milestone—whether it’s a big career move, a promotion, or finishing grad school. My wife and I thought a modest yet meaningful Rolex would be the perfect way to commemorate these moments—something they can treasure forever (we hope!).

The first milestone delivery happened on Thanksgiving, a day filled with family, gratitude, and reflection. It felt like the perfect time to gift our oldest son his watch and celebrate all he’s accomplished in just 24 years. He works hard, has been off our payroll for years now (cheers to that! ), and recently earned a fantastic promotion. So we decided to “pull the trigger”!

I snapped a couple of pictures to share with you—a classic unboxing shot and a wrist shot of his new Datejust 41. He was beyond excited and couldn’t wait to dive into learning everything about his watch. We spent hours chatting about horology, Rolex’s legacy, and the intricate details of his piece. Seeing his enthusiasm was such a rewarding moment.

I have two more kids with milestones to go—the next watch is already lined up and in the safe, with my next kid “getting the call” in May 2025, in time for his graduation from grad school.

At first, I thought I might be more excited about giving these watches than my kids would be receiving them. Boy, was I wrong! Watching my son light up was an experience I’ll never forget, and it made the whole journey even more special.

Wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving! I’m grateful to be part of a community that shares my passion for watches and commiserate with; the ups and downs of Rolex ADs!

Great question and thanks for asking!

Graduate school is post university studies. Medical School, MBA (Business School), Lawschool, etc.
