Vintage SD ?'s
OK
The SD is and always has been my favorite Rolex made. What are various unique vintage SD pieces that still not in the 20K range? Are there any unique SD's that could be had for 12-15K? Surely Id love a Comex or Red but doubt those are even near what I am looking at. Sorry if it is a stupid ? but I just do not know the market at all on the vintage SD.

Well, the best one after the red, is the great white 1665.
There are a few different variants of the dial, the rarest I think is the small "f" font immediately proceeding the drsd. Starting around 5.2-5.3 mil. Here is my example. Next, or some even think the rail dial is rarer in design with the longer "f". The font superlative chronometer officially certified are lined up rail style. http://www.thebeautifulwatch.com/img...1-f0f3edcc34a1 Notice the t swiss on the bottom of the dial is not centered. Definetly has a big following. Expect to pay anywhere from $10,500USD to 14,000 USD depending on provadence. Now I'm no expert as I'm new to this piece and have just started doing some small research. Check out: http://doubleredseadweller.com/ for more detailed info. Jeff |

Wish I could afford a Comex or Red :(
Beautiful watch Jeff, thank you for the info :) What price does a cheaper Comex or Red fetch in this market?

Umm yeah a little out of my range but it is nice to dream :)
Funny, I would sell multiple pieces to fund a Plat DD (used of course) but I do not think Id be willing to sell as many pieces as it would take to buy a Red SD..... I know the Red SD would be a smarter buy but Id wear the Plat DD Regardless I am not selling multiples to buy either at this point. How about the Comex? I am certain that is even more but just curious as I know a guy who has one (got it working for them) and I already asked he wouldn't sell it no matter what (he is well to do)

Seen a 1665 comex for sale last month for $125,000 USD. Believe it sold.
Full spec Milsub for sale today at $102,000 USD. If I had it, those 2 would be in my collection. Hopefully one day. |

WOW
I only wish!!! I could sell 3 or 4 major pieces out of my collection to make that happen (well the cheapest one you saw) but one of the ones Id have to I don't think Id sell in exchange for a vintage piece. Sell my 5513, 1675, 94110 and I really want to use the funds from my PAM 233 for something more current than a vintage piece.
