Loctite >>>>>
Can’t remember which Loctite that’s the proper one to use at the screws on Rolex bracelets – Loctite 220 or 222?
Thanks BR Jesper Geisler |

I don't remember. Took this pics when I picked my Daytona; is there a way to tell from the Rolex box?

Blue loctite would be ideal I believe. With red I don't think you would ever get the screws back out.

This is from the AD, and the red Loctite is what Rolex supplies.

Loctite 221 is purple and is made as "jewellery adhesive" (threadlocker)
Blue - 242 Red - 271 Green - 290 Red Loctite is for fasteners from 3/8 - 1" in diameter and is non-service removeable. As stated above you WILL need heat to remove a fastener that has used red Loctite threadlocker.

Loctite 221 and 222 are virtually identical products. Both are purple in color and low strength. All Loctite threadlocker containers are red. Either is fine for bracelet screws and other jewelry uses.
222 is thixotropic in its viscosity. That is a highly technical term which means it does not ook out all over the place. It is less likely to run out of screw holes and this makes it nice for bracelet screws. Use either, but use very sparingly. Mark |
