Buying a Rolex in London

Good afternoon guys,
I will be in London for 3 days at the end of November and I am struggling to find details of Role ADs in London. I already own SD and GMT II and I would like to add a 116200.
Would you please recommend me the best places (ADs or not) to buy a Datejust in London.
Many thanks in advance for your help, cheers,
R.

im sure you can google their numbers on the net. here are some of the ADs in london

Watches Of Switzerland
Ernest Jones
Fraser Hart
Gold Smiths (im pretty they are Rolex AD)
DM London (inside Selfridges)

good luck. you probably wont be able to get discounts on SS models, but expect around 10% for TT or precious metal models.

good luck & happy shopping

EDIT - how did i forget Harrods?!?

Good luck and have fun on your search. New Bond St. should give you a great deal to check out. But don't look for dicounts.
Let us know how it turns out,

If you are in the Bond St area, a little diversion into the Burlington Arcade could be interesting.

I would try Ernest Jones. I spoke to them recently and they told me that they could give 15% on gold and 10% on TT and most others except sport SS.

You might get a discount on a ss datejust... As far as I know it is only the ss sport models that is hard to get discount on in the UK.

I'd agree that it might be the case in London, but in more regional dealers, a little bit of discount is certainly possible

also you will get about 10% vat back, unless you buy it on the airside, which will be a full 15% vat refund.

You may not believe this, but I was in London last month and stopped into Harrod's to look things over.

I priced out a TT GMT IIc and was very surprised to find that their price was as good or better than the Greys here in the states. And no tax. I came so close to adding it to the collection, but just could not justify it at that time. I am still kicking myself!

Give them a look. You might be pleasantly surprised!. I wish I could remember the name of the gentleman that showed me the timepiece. He was an older gentleman about 55-60, thin and very kind and patient.

Here is a thread I posted after returning.

You should be able to get a small discount, but the pound is pretty low, so you may be surprised at the price anyway.. Enjoy the trip

Don't forget that you can claim back the 15% VAT (Sales tax) at the airport when you fly back home.

no you won't unfortunately. By the time the take out the process and admin charges it goes down to about 10% refund. Unless you buy it on the airside after the security that when you get the full 15% vat refund.

Also there may be a small fee associated if you ask for cash instead of the refund back to your credit card.

Happy shopping!
