1981 datejust 16013 no “Swiss” on Dial.. Worth ???

Fellow members,
I purchased a 1981 Rolex model 16013 overall condition I would put at 6 or 7. It’s used but very clean. Some small scratches on crystal, it been polished, the Rolex band has some stretch, overall very clean but no doubt they it’s used. My question is this... watch has dial that does not have the word “Swiss” at the six o’clock position. I paid $2700.00 for the watch. How much does the fact that the dial has been redone or replaced effect the value of the watch. The Lume does not work. From what I have read that is expected from a 38 year old watch, so I do not believe dial is new. What do you guys think this watch is worth. Seller is offering full refund but I have seen this same exact watch sell for $3300.00 to 4000.00 plus. What is your opinion.
Thank you,
Joe

Verdi, yesI know. Seller offered $300.00 refund and I keep the watch. So I’m a little confused. I will must likely return the watch. Just looking for some more advise as I have zero experience in this arena.

Aftermarket dial, lugs and bezel badly over-polished. Who knows what else is wrong from those photos (e.g. is the bracelet legit?). Not much to like, really. I'm sure the seller was very happy to find a buyer.

Not a good deal for you.
I wouldn't buy this even for 2k.

Give it back and look for a better one. DJs are fairly common.

Look at vintage trusted dealers.

If you like the watch, take the 300 bucks.

You can pick up a nice dial for a Datejust any time, any where - they're thick as flies in a barnyard.

I don’t usually disagree with you Larry, but considering the totality of the OP’s experience, I’d say get a full refund.

Then he can look for a well sorted Rolex not needing any dial swap or other issues.

Oh, man, that's brutal! (I did laugh.)

Totally agree with everything above. Get your full refund quickly, and enjoy searching and buying a good example of a vintage DJ. They're out there.

Good luck!
