Submariner v GMT

My understanding is that the current submariners all have the super case with wider lugs than the previous five digit models. Do all of the current gmt watches have slimmer or more tapered lugs than the submariners?

I have found information online saying the gmt cases are the exact same as the submariners, that all of the gmt’s are slimmer and that only the gmt’s I n the jubilee bracelet are slimmer. Obviously only one of these answers can be correct. Does anyone know the answer to this for certain from a good source like an article from a reputable watch periodical or even from owning these watches and having measured?

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

“Supposedly” they are slimmer. I read it in Watch Time article about the Pepsi on a jubilee so its got to be true..... they kinda look the same to me. Let me know when they look like lugs on a 16710.... or even split the difference from the new ones.

I cannot see any difference at all. They must be the same

the casebacks on the subs have more height than the gmts but the lugs on the gmts have more height than subs. laterally, the subs have wider lugs than the gmts. if you measure from the bottom of the caseback to the top of the crystal, subs are 0.5mm thicker than gmts.

This video shows the differences well:

At one point rolex super sized the gmt line up bigger case with trip loc crown. Why no idea still rated at 100 meters like the previous ones. You would think they would do that to explorer line. Not a gmt. Just my humble opinion!!!!

I mean I would trust your vision rather than what they say in the magazines. They say tapered or some such word, which is really just marketing. They already make a fantastic gmt, perfectly proportioned, and balanced....it’s the 5 digit. All tool and no unnecessary bling.

I have a BLNR I purchased in 2014 and a SubC purchased in 2015. There are slight differences in the case. I posted pics comparing side by side in a previous post. Might be able to search for it.

Thank you. I thought I saw a very slight difference but I wasn’t sure if it was the colors causing me to see it that way.

My SubC feels bigger and more of a block on my wrist than my Blnr, not a bad thing but for a 6 digit sports piece the GMT has perfect proportions.

My Batman sits better on my wrist but this is dependent on your wrist shape, size etc.. I feel they are about the same and the Sub brings the micro adjustment on the clasp so might help on fitting it right.. my Daytona and Kermit feel even better on wrist than the 6digit Rollies but enjoying all of them pretty much
