Champions league last 16 (football not soccer)

The 4 English teams all have tough fixtures this week. At the start of the season I thought all four would progress quite easily and make the majority of the semi finals and win the cup.
However watching the standard of English football on offer this season makes me doubt it. Barcelona seem in a class of their own (despite last nights shock home defeat) and Real Madrid are coming into form.
I'm never sure about Italian teams as generally they seem to play at a slower tempo and AC Milan aside don't seem to produce.

Last sixteen selected first leg fixtures this week and my guesses for results
Arsenal Roma 1-1
Inter Milan Man Utd 2-1
Chelsea Juventus 2-0
Real Madrid Liverpool 2-1
Lyon Barcelona 1-3

What do you think?

Are you sure !!!!!!!!Milan will not beat united, you may be right about Barca being the class act . I am biased of course, but really think this maybe the best united team or squad i have seen.

Paul much as I hate to say it Man U are the best team in England at the moment by a mile, but I do wonder how strong our league is at the moment. An awful lot of dull low scoring games in the premiership this season.
You have got three great centre backs, and the two Brazilian twins look good. Don't forget what Mourinho did with Porto against your boys.

My best friend was the second goalkeeper for Olympiakos back in 2001-2003. They were playing against M. United in England, and I remember him calling me after the game to tell me what he thought about their game. His exact words were "it was just like a playstation game",that team is UNREAL.

I believe M.United plays the BEST soccer on the planet and the Premier league is the best league in the world.

Manchester United is a great team but I don't think right now is the best team on the planet, Barcelona and Inter are playing great football right now even when Barcelona lost today.

Don't forget about other teams playing well like Juventus, Liverpool, AC Milan and don't ever forget about Real Madrid!!

You are right. I guess I like the fast pace soccer from Premier League teams.

Martin, the record Mourinho has at home is amazing he has not lost a home game with Porto Cheslski or Inter it goes back about 7 years i think, and his record against Fergie is very good. But records are there to be broken as Fergie says.
We wait with fingers crossed if we get past them we have a great chance.
Of the so called top four in are league their is only United performing at the level of the last few years, you are right about the standard here. When you look at Spain or Italy they seem to have a lot more teams playing great football.

Luckily not a betting man, but give me a pin and I will help.
All four English team through. Arsenal made hard work of qualification but Liverpool, Man U & Chelsea did it with ease. Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Porto & Villarreal join them in last eight.

depends on draw but could well be. Only problem if that happens is it will be in Rome and that could cause a lot of trouble for visiting fans.
