Ref 6536 tritium redial value?

Hi everyone,

I've come across a 6536 Sub that seems to be in waaaaay too good condition. However, being that the watch is in Japan, the condition doesn't necessarily surprise me.

The seller has indicated that the watch has been redialed with a tritium one, I assume from the factory.

I know vintage collectors would prefer the original radium dial but for me, the risk of keeping a radioactive watch around isn't worth it. (I know there's been much debate about this.)

Anyways, assuming the watch is all good otherwise, what kind of price would you expect?

Photos are needed, but just to clarify, I think you are saying that the original dial has been replaced with a tritium service dial. The term "redialed" is generally used to indicate that the original dial has been refinished/repainted.

Sorry, but that is one poor photo.

it’s a nice dial but service dials aren’t worth that much relative to original dials. A 5508 with a service dial sold for 14-15 a couple weeks ago but it had a long 5 insert.. I’d guess it’s about 15. JessyW sold a 6536 with service dial this summer for 14. Also your insert is a service so that doesn’t help the value.

Would also need to see photos of the case.

The photo is too small and blurry to say much, but I sense that it's an attractive watch without much appeal for a collector. If the OP doesn't like radium dials, he should probably just focus on references that originally came with tritium dials.

You want us to provide a price with no detail. Glad you love the web.
It’s clearly a tritium service dial but the condition is still in question. The solution is easy: get good photos. It’s not hard.
