More Tudor
Just thought I'd add to the all the Tudor shots that have been posted here recently. I bought this Ranger a couple months ago and have been loving it. It dates to about 1974.
I've always liked the look of the Explorer, but I like having a date function with my watch. Tudor Ranger Date has it all Despite being only 35mm in diameter, I think this watch has great wrist presence. Perhaps it's the oyster bracelet that gives it a more robust look. BTW, for those eagle-eyed, experts out there, I currently have the watch on an aftermarket bracelet to preserve the original folded-link, Rolex oyster bracelet that the watch came with. |

It would be the "Bomb" on a black nato, or even an olive one

The problem I've found with Nato's on the smaller watches is the secondary strap that goes under the watch is just too long. It looks kind of weird. I tried a black and black/gray on my Explorer but it just didn't look right. Maybe I should try a Zulu. But, I think black or black/gray would look awesome on the Ranger without the secondary strap.

Not over keen on Tudors. I think that they're the red headed step children of the Rolex family. I'd prefer a 1016 explorer. Don't mind my ranting, enjoy it in good health

Ref. is 7995 according to the seller. I also had the RSC in SF open the watch to inspect and I think they confirmed 7995. Oddly, I see that ref. quoted on various websites to sometimes refer to no-date Tudor watches and sometimes see 7996 as the date versions, so might be 7996. |

allow me to quote from a Tudor warranty booklet circa 1969. "Tudor is the watch created by Rolex to answer the demand for a high quality timepiece at as low a cost as possible. Tudor watches are built in the Rolex tradition, benefitting from sixty years of experience in high precision manufacture. Each one is made to Rolex specifications. Skilled craftsmen assemble and regulate them with the devoted care and attention that only Swiss-born watchmakers can give." I like to think of them as the beautiful blond stepchildren.
