Orders

hi,
i'm a watch dealer and started to deal with Rolex. i'm a, dealer for over a year now and this month was the first time i bought an expensive rolex. Yes, i did not have the funds and intrest purchasing second hand watches more then the retail bud god... everybody is looking for a rolex...
So my question is: i bought a GMT master II which has mixed serial. how can i find out from what year it is? (bought it without a card).
Acoording to my firneds / other watchdealers if the buckle is shiney and not math, it is over the year 2015. but still, i would like to know since if i sell it and client will ask, what should i say? i can easily say 2018 and it's not....

No way for you to know. Random serials were introduced in no small part to eliminate the ability to ‘date’ a Rolex by the serial number.

Ya I guess it's 2015 or newer when you sell that one.

Hmmmmmm what am I missing???
You’re a watch dealer who bought a Rolex without it papers and didn’t do your research (despite being a watch dealer)

Are you having buyers remorse! as a “watch dealer”?

I really didn’t get this post or the point of it! Why don’t you post a pic of your new expensive Rolex!

Sounds legit, I'm sure it's not a replica either... No good replicas out there of rolexes...

The color of the lume would help give you an idea. I believe the GMT II didn't switch to Chromalight until about 2013. Before that it would have the more green Superluminova.

This guy seems legit... Almost like his profile was created to illustrate the saying "buy the seller"

i think you should do some more homework and hone your craft and expertise before becoming a watch dealer, who should really know more than the people on TRF because its your job?

I guess if you are new to Rolex, the random serials don't help with the production date. You didn't mention the reference, so I will guess you have 116710 which the steel model began production 2007 -2018. If I wasn't certain of the date I would just say the years of production.
