New to AP, potentially naive question re: ROC 15500
Hi everyone. I currently have my eyes on the ROC 15500 but my usual AD doesn’t happen to carry AP. I was going to set up an appointment with the flagship boutique in NYC, but I’m curious as to if the 15500 is usually a waitlist type of watch or if it’s readily available.
Thanks! Edit-ROC is a typo—see told ya novice! |

The 15500 isn’t a chronograph so I’m guessing the ROC was a typo. The watch is unlikely to be readily available as a first time AP buyer unless you know a good AP customer who can introduce you to someone senior at the brand.
It isn’t impossible though, there may well be a 15500 available on the day you go in, a blue dial would definitely be a waitlist watch. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Be aware that it wears much bigger than a 41 - like MUCH bigger!

IMO the most attractive dial for the 15500 is the grey dial, the blue dial is the hardest to get and therefore commands the best value retention if that’s important to you.

Trying to get an appointment online was a waste of time. Call or walk in was my experience. |

I think I agree and I have the blue. Then again I am all in on grey everything. I buy silver cars. Painted my whole house different shades of grey. Carrara marble everywhere I am pretty boring.

Thanks for all the input, guys. Walked into the flagship boutique on 57th and was basically told to pound sand haha. I did however find an AD in soho who was super nice and explained they’re generally first come first serve.
Hopefully between that one and a few friends who know some ADs, I could maybe get lucky or get into a waitlist. |

That was the impression they gave you on the RO non-blues? Or did you start out by looking for RO Blue?
FWIW, I got the polite 'pound sand' from the SOHO AD. Was nice to show the pre-owned watches, but no path to a simple RO SS in gray or black. |

that's what they'd tell you for any dial 15450 also, no chance at getting a 15500 here

The SOHO AD felt like I'm guessing what the non-established customer must feel like trying to get a Daytona when show cases are empty at AD's with maybe just ladies watches. To be clear, the SA was top notch and incredibly professional and talented. But basically no ability to have a candid discussion to establish expectations. |

Non blue was first come first serve. Blue was “yeah not gonna happen” essentially.

I went to a boutique in Venice and had a very similar experience as macrowatch. The owner was very knowledgeable and advised me to put my name on a list for a black or gray AP, after he told me I would need to buy something like a CODE to even get one of those. ( He mentinoed there being a 1-2 year wait at least). However, I went in guns blazing asking about blue 15202s and 15500s.

When I get a 15500 (if ever) it will probably be a gray one. The blue looks almost black except in brightly lit photographs and I don’t care for all the hype. Thankfully I am not into dress watches. ROO is more my style...
