Melbourne GTG

Well, once again we WISs made a spectacle of ourselves, this time at Shark Fin Inn on Saturday night. As always, everybody stopped eating and turned to watch a bunch of nuts lay out a stack of watches across the table:

Here's Oztimelord's WG Daytona:

Kai's GMT II on the Jubilee bracelet and his 1603:

Steve's stash:

And of course John had to put us all in the shade:

Hope the evening gave you some idea of what watch nuts get up to, Myvan!

Was it restored or is it completely original?

Rolex serviced it. It has the new hands & dial, but I have the tritium ones too.

Great GTG,

Good food and really nice wine (thanks to Steve). I really enjoyed meeting the people behind the watches and sharing the Rolex passion.

Looking forward to the next one.

We each had the banquet, quite a lot of food. It was a good venue and we got the VIP treatment (or at least that is what my medallion told us we would get). Funny the waiter told everyone in front of me that the VIP medallion was worthless
I think everyone had a great time because it started at 6:30pm and didn't end until around 1:00am the next day.
I learned a few lessons about this GTG including that if you want to make a booking for 6 in a top restaurant you need to do that 2 months in advance.
All in all it was a very enjoyable evening.
To be notified of future GTG's in Melbourne or Australia it would help if you send me a PM expressing your interest.

What was really funny was that when John asked the waiter, "What extras do we get with this medallion?", the waiter just said, "Nothing" without batting an eyelid.
