Did you hear about his U.S. career in the AMA Superbikes? On pole for his first race isnt too shabby, but the got shuffled back on the first lap. I dont know if he had "help" or not. I cant wait to see race 2 tonight. I'll be routing for Spies this year but I also like the Haga/Ducatti matchup this year.
No sorry, didn't know they were showing it over here. I think his coming to SBK is a good thing as his record is outstanding but there have been very talented riders from all over the world riding before and ending up nowhere. British SBK and Moto GP are totally different race wise than being able to go fast for one lap. Streetwise riders, maybe at the end of their career are not gonnna let newcomers push them around easy and it will be a hard learning curve I suspect for him.

I like Nori and he has the talent to have won for years, he just hasn't had the bike with right amount of grunt. He rides the wheels off whatever he is on but I suspect the Ducati may prove to be an awkward beast to what he is used to, especially with the torque. Then there is the fact other factory teams have developed their bikes so now the Ducati will not have it all it's own way. The Credit crunch may have hit some of the development but its cheaper going SBK racing than Moto GP. Not much but any saving is better than none.

As for Moto GP. Mr Rossi is just about the best there has been in a very long time. It depends how much development Honda have put into their machines because I would imagine he would have been off if his 'requirements' were not met. Lorenzo is capable if they let them race. Pedrosa seems to have trouble staying on and again development cost, them again so does lorenzo. Rossis's maturity may win through, but I suspect he will be keeping a wary eye out for a red bike ridden by Casey Stoner!

Either way it all makes fantastic viewing and I wish a good, safe season for all involved.

there was recent talk about a street race in Las Vegas. Ecclestone wants more money than the USA venues will pay but as a lot of Las Vegas is owned by a Dubai outfit it is thought they may sponsor it and promote there own interests.

I'm personally lusting after a new Duc Monster 1100s!
Race 2 is being aired on Speed Channel tonight. I'm not sure what time. DVR is already set. I'm curious if he can stay out front if he gets off the grid better this race.

I'm very curious about the new cars and whether they will race well. I hope they race better than they look because they are kinda ugly, lol. To be honest, I'd be happy if they outlawed the wings and made them race with just mechanical grip.

I am stoked about a US F1 team, can't wait until 2010. My completely wild-ass guess has AJ Allmendinger in one car, no idea who might be in the 2nd car except it won't be Danica Patrick (thankfully). I suspect it will be a non-American who is currently in F1, they will need an experienced driver.

Australia should be interesting, the first race always seems to have quite a few unexpected twists to it.

Now if Time-Warner would just get SPEED in HD...

More sour grapes from the fat little gnome.

I thought he'd got past all this whingeing after the Brazilian GP.

Obviously not.

I like F1 a lot, but unfortunately it's not ever broadcast in my television viewing area, and I'm not a cable/satellite TV guy.

well that's what the rumors are...Raikkonen is under contract till 2010. I think it's possible. Alonso is a very good driver. I wouldn't mind seeing him at Ferrari. I do like Kimi tho, even since the McLaren days.

Are you happy the way the FIA favoured their beloved ferrari last season? the penalties against ferrari's main rival Lewis Hamilton were totally disgusting and really brought F1 in to disrepute

how about the F1 in 2005 in the USA? nice of the FIA to allow their pet team Ferrari to race and win

Are you aware what the FIA are known as around the world?

Maxi, you have already been warned about coming out with sweeping statements about Ferrari cheating. I'm no fan of Ferrari myself, but that is not acceptable.

After the warning, you have chosen to come back with TWO posts to the same effect. Very well - goodbye.

One thing that will be interesting is to see how the teams cope with KERS and how much performance they can get out of it.

I am curious about KERS also. I want to see what it is really going to do. Is it mandatory to run from the first race? Or will it be implemented slowly?
