New Movement for New Explorer 2

The current generation Explorer 2 had a few upgrades from the standard GMT Master, most notably the Paraflex shock absorber. These advances have now been incorporated into the new GMT movement on the Pepsi and Batman.

I know nobody knows for sure, but does anyone believe new technologies will be instituted when the Explorer 2 goes through its upgrades in 2 years?

If so, what?

The only thing I can think of is changing to a silicon hairspring. Anything else we believe or wish to be updated?

Upgrades in 2 years?

Do you know something that the rest of us don't?

Yes. In all likelihood that would be when. Just a guess though.

I was hoping everyone would focus on potential updates that may show up.

My opinion would be upgrades that make it more rugged, like it used to have versus the standard movement.

Yes, these would be the trend, movement from 48hrs power reserved to 70hours etc. Really look forward to this year Baselworld.

Very good guess. Rolex seems to be updating movements to the 70 hour range and they have done special things for 50th anniversaries. We’ll find out for sure in two years. If they go with the 3285 movement, it could return to 40mm. That would be pretty sweet.

It's funny this topic has come up. I was in my local ad the other day checking my place on the list and all that nonsense. I was wearing my explorer 2 polar and without any prompting he told me not to sell it as there are going to be changes. He didn't want to elaborate or narrow it down if it was, a new movement or even discontinuation.
Just thought I'd mention it. Might be complete gobbledygook

Really it should be providing what Tudor already is... 70 hrs of power and a silicon hairspring.
