Question on Rail Dial
Hi all,
Long time reader from Egypt (if you haven't already guest from my name on here). What makes a rail dial a rail dial. I've seen Explorer II dials and Sea-dweller dials called "rail" but I can't see the difference with my untrained eye. Thanks a lot. A |

Rail dial refers to the Letter C in the Words Chronometer and Certified that perfectly aligned with each other. One C on top of the other. Hope this helps.

Rail dials was was a term used by collectors to describe a particular type of font alignment found on dials and described by Rolex Egypt. Later, rail dials were and are hyped by sellers to promote and/or add premiums to their value.

Of course the irony is that the "C"s do not line up at all....close but not really.
This photo is of my personal 16570 cream rail dial explorer. |

It’s the same way in the 1665, the Cs are not perfectly aligned. The top one is a hair left....on the fake rail 1665 I talk about they were perfectly aligned...one sign it was fake
