Only one person I’m concerned about noticing my watches. My wife. Luckily she doesn’t. :)

No one in Oz notices or comments. I wore my new GMT CHNR for 3 days without my wife noticing. It was only when she was reading through my emails on my phone as we were out driving when she came across one from the AD thanking me for my purchase that she almost shouted "did you get something from Rolex!" Er, yes, look at my wrist which has been less than a metre from your face for the last 2 hours...

116500 only once in 1.5 years

116718 gets a comment every few months or so, mostly in short sleeve season

Wife looking through your emails?

I have a similar story, when I bought my SD43 6 months ago, my wife never noticed a change in my wrist. I’ve been switching between my DSSD D-Blue and SD43 for the last 6 months and she still has no idea.

But no wife reading of emails...lol.

Hmmm...going back just a couple of years I’ve had two random comments on my BLRO, one on my Mitsukoshi dial Speedmaster, one on my BLNR, and none on my 116500. Now in watch stores of course the employees notice what you’re wearing as soon as you walk through the door.

If I walk into a watch dealer or AD wearing a Rolex, they notice. If I walk in wearing a Casio, they also notice. What’s hilarious is how some sales reps genuinely treat you differently depending on what you’re wearing.

Outside of that, very rarely does anyone notice, and if they do they generally appreciate watches.

Barely. People mostly comment about how ‘shiny’ it is. The white gold fluted bezel definitely does have that unique shimmer.

Nope. Random people have noticed my sporty Citizen Eco-Drive more than they notice my GMT-Master.

My two tone rose gold/steel Datejust gets compliments. Couple times in Las Vegas last year, at my supermarket, and most recently at a local deli. I've never had a watch get more compliments than that DJ.

Once, about 3 years ago. A salesperson said "Nice watch!" to me (I was wearing a Sub LV at the time).

Many people don’t notice what watches other people wear. I don’t see any problem with that. Wear what you like and suit you.

I have gotten many comments on my Pepsi. Even had one dude stop and freak out over it at the mall. And have had several people message me on Instagram when I’m wearing it in a pic, surprised they can notice from that far away, none of the pics were close ups. Two days ago had someone at a meeting speak to me about watches for a good 30 minutes after he saw it.

Yeah most people don't care - because for the majority of people, spending the money we do (or consider spending) on watches seems very strange (even if they have the money to spend!).

Does anyone notice your watch?

If ordinary people notice my watches, they’re doing a really great job of hiding it.

Guys and gals that are watch enthusiasts do notice them. Very small minority of people...

Nope -unless a colleague who also collects watches or are younger/interns and on the Instagram game.

Most are more interested in the fitness watches and lifestyle q than the jewellery.

Well.... My girlfriend notices everytime i buy a new watch, almost ripped my head off when she found out that i bought my first Rolex (Oyster Date Precision 6694 vintage). I was 20 years old (21 now) and she told me not to complain about the exam prices at University when i have the money to buy a Rolex.

In 7 years 1 person has made a comment on my DSSD. He's a guy i work with and is also a watch person. Many others may have noticed but haven't said anything.

Occasionally someone at work may comment because they’re into watches, and we might then geek out for a bit. But outside of that, never. I live in a rural farming village where nobody other than my closest friend knows anything (or cares) about watches. I rarely leave the village other than for work, so most conversations are about tractors!

I wear an Explorer Mk2 that I bought new in April 2019. I wear it everyday (I've converted to be one watch guy but that's another topic for another thread).

Outside of my family, only one person in all that time has noticed my watch. I realize the Explorer is known for flying under the radar. This was part of the appeal for me as the Mk2 was intended to be the only watch I wear. Perhaps a Daytona or Day Date would garner more attention and I'm quite sure those of you who own such models can comment on that.

I know that we as watch junkies are always looking at other people's wrists. The general public just doesn't notice your watch.

Thanks for reading.
Yes when I am wearing any of my Rolex watches I put a sticker on my forehead stating look I am wearing a Rolex. Plus now I have a battery powered neon flashing sign with all the colours of the rainbow, look at me I am wearing a Rolex encase they cannot see it on my wrist .And the only wrist I am interested in is my own, whatever watch I am wearing then only to tell the time.In the real world would doubt if 2% of the population would know or care what watch anyone was wearing.
