Really? I think it looks great on you. I would even say on the smaller side of your sweet spot. What model would you get? What makes you want the 36 over the 39.5? Lol. I have heard that the new 36 wears slightly smaller then the 36 before it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Usually I just observe some people looking at my wrist. Almost like they are thinking, or trying to determine what it is. My theory is that if they notice it’s a Rolex it occurs to them that bringing it up could be an uncomfortable conversation, due to the polarizing aura of Rolex.
Overall I would say my SD43 gets the most attention. |

This is a sad truth though. More than half the time no one really notices if I have a watch on, not to mention the brand or the worth.
I can't say I've been complimented that much considering how much interest I put in picking a watch that best suits an occasion. |

Haha yeah I think I’m going to trade, although thank you very much. I don’t know, I just think that in modern times, watches are worn differently to decades gone by. These days the wrist is taken up mostly by the watch head/case itself with very little bracelet slack. This is evident in almost all of the photos I see posted here on the forum and other places. Perhaps I’m a little old fashioned in that way. You are correct, though. I had both a 116200 and a 126200 in my hands at the AD on Saturday and the newer 36mm is smaller. Thinner, and shorter, lugs. Slimmer case profile - an overall smaller watch. The 116200 is the last of its kind with a larger case so thats what I’ll go for. I’m going back and forth in my mind. Was supposed to buy it yesterday but need to think a few more days about it as I’ll be getting rid of the DJ41. As you can see by the pics, a lot smaller, so I need to be sure. |

TBH....while the 36 and sub 40mm proportions are considered classic sizing it seems in this day/age to wear a bit small. I had a 38mm Omega Seamaster years ago and while it was my first 'nice watch' I was certainly taken aback by its smaller presence on the wrist. Same with when I picked up my first Rolex - a mid 90's SeaDweller. But being a bigger guy with a larger wrist has something to do with that as well.

The only time someone comments on a watch that I wearing is when they are a watch enthusiast like myself. Otherwise I wear them for my own pleasure.

The DJ41 looks perfect on you. It wears smaller. I still see a lot of bracelet. Maybe try the 41 with jubilee smooth. That’s a great combo and wears small. Shows a lot of bracelet. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

My friend once noticed. He asked me if that was a Rolex (GMT2 Pepsi)? I asked him if anyone else makes watches?
My wife hasn't noticed and I have 5. I figure she will figure it out when I'm dead. |

10:1 it's me complimenting someone else's watch, vs someone commenting on mine. But it's also very rare for me to say something if I notice.
I almost did say something yesterday as I was walking out of brunch. A guy was wearing his Milgauss blue dial - and the way the light struck it from the skylight was magical how that dial came alive. It was surreal. |

Random people?
Almost never. My wife? She can spot a new addition on my wrist before I pull into the garage. |

In my case I have to say yes. Just two days ago in an elevator my Patek. Hulk in a restaurant about a month ago. GMT Pepsi some time ago. Panerai Fiddy in another elevator about 6 months ago. So, I have to say yes but I’m always surprised to receive comments.

is the jubilee noticed more than the oyster? anyone have both on a DJ41 or a batman/girl? Does the bracelet make a difference, and would a rubber b or oysterflex decrease the notice?

I have a Panerai and a Tag currently. The Panerai gets a lot of attention and usually it's another watch dude with a Panerai. Tag gets some love here and there. The most attention is from the gold Timex Calculator watch I have. I work in medicine and do a lot with my hands which can attract some attention?

I had the DJll with oyster. Bigger watch. Got noticed often. Have the same exact model in the DJ41 with jubilee. It catches the light a lot more. I would say it gets noticed quite a bit more. I have a diamond dial on both but I don’t think that matters. So imo the jubilee>oyster in terms of people noticing and wrist presence. Especially from a distance. Rubber B would definitely fly more under the radar. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Like many of my fellow Explorer owners have mentioned, our watches don’t get noticed much. It’s not that the watch is understated; it’s that we Explorer owners tend to be, for lack of a better term, “larger than life”. People tend to hang onto our words, and have trouble breaking gazes from our faces. Such is life.

I don't own a Rolex yet...still on the hunt. But my PAM 510 get's noticed/compliments often. I'm always switching the straps and I think that is what catches people's attention.

I've had many comments on different Rolex's I've been wearing.
My Daytona's , Batman and Hulk always seem to get the most. I'm living in Dubai now so there's lot's of watch people here plus the fact of majority of people are away from home so don't seem to have problems with striking up conversations wit strangers |

I was at a casino last night playing blackjack, while my S/O was in the banquet hall for an event. A person at the same table two chairs down says “hey man, that’s a really nice watch!”.....
He was 18-20 years of age. I was wearing my Explorer 2 polar (216570). It’s the first compliment I’ve had from a non WIS on this reference. I was quite pleased someone this young took notice. |

Haven't had anyone remark on my 116610LV. Been my daily for the past 4 years. My Panerai does get some comments every now and then though. Most likely due to the size and unique shape of the case and crown guard.

I would agree that on most people with about a 6.5 inch wrist can pull off a 36. I think anything above 7 inches should look at the DJ41 since it’s a 39.5mm watch. And has a very slim profile. That being said it’s up to RG but if I remember correctly he has about the same wrist size as me. 7.5 and I feel my DJ41 definitely wears on the smaller side of what I usually wear or prefer. For me 42-43mm is perfect. I think the DJ41 looks great on him but as they say your money your decision. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Unfortunately not many people notice my Explorer, so I have to employ several people to walk into a room before me and loudly announce that the person entering is wearing a Rolex. They also carry banners and signs, just in case anyone is deaf.

I’ve found that the jubilee bracelet is more noticeable than the oyster based on the amount of comments I’ve received...though it’s impossible to know how many have noticed and not said anything. |

Hi, thank you, you’re right, larger wrists may suit the DJ41 better. My wrist is actually 6.75 so I’m at that place where it suits either, I guess. We’ll see. Cheers |

Twice
My white ceramic Daytona has received two comments at different times from two different individuals. Kind of surprising as I have a few Rolex and several other watches, and really over the 20 years I have been collecting I have never received a comment. I am good with that.
