1. Yachtmaster has presence and it will get you noticed
2. The Submariner date is the most desireable watch in the Rolex Collection 3. The Sea Dweller is the watch to go diving with... your TOOL at sea AND THE MONSTER IN YOUR WRIST The most expensive of the three is the DSSD at 7950 YM at 6,750...and the Sub 4,750, I think the Sub 16610 is the best deal... price vs collectibility/value/desireability But... The choice is yours, your watch, your money, your perception of RWC... |

I love the YM, but the Subdate is a legendary watch.

The Sub Date is a classic watch and will always be popular. You could also look into the anniversary Sub with the green bezel insert to be a little different. But my watch of choice would be a vote for the GMT's, any of them!!!

SubDate.
Did you mean DSSD 116600 or SD4000?

The YM is my choice of the 3, but as a first Rolex you should get a Sub as that is the strongest selling model of those specified. However, I would go for the LV Sub, you gotta love the maxi dial.
Basically get any, you can't go wrong Good Luck.

haha JJ, that does help alot. thanks!
well, the budget i had in mind was enough to get me either the YM or the DSSD, but if i were to get the sub instead of the YM or DSSD, i actually have enough change left to get myself the air king as well! haha, what do you guys think about the air king? then i can have a casual watch (sub) and a more dressy one (air king) |

First get the Sub pictured above.....then do NOTHING.....for a while, at least. Then.....you start to SAVE, SAVE, SAVE......for the stunning Platty. DON'T buy the Air-King in haste......you will regret it later on down the line....and even find it too small on your wrist. SAVE up for this beauty......next!!! Hope this pic will convince you!!

Between the three, I voted for Sub. But my personal view is that the most versatile ROLEX watch is the GMT II.....

I bought the Sea-Dweller because I didn't want to be like the other dozen people at my office with their Sub.

DSSD. It has the 'presence' similar to the other choices, yet maintains an exclusivity being what it is.

Sea Dweller for me.
I love its clean lines without the cyclops lense and there's fewer around than the Sub Date. Its also out of production now, so maybe 2009 is the last chance to find a BNIB. |

I voted DSSD, its a beautiful engineered watch.
I knew you had one Whiskey. Msrp in U.S. $9250 less 20% = $7400 converted at $1.2852 is $9500 Canadian. Then if you declare it, taxes will be 13% here in Ontario. Net price of $10,735. I paid 10K taxes in, and no worry crossing into the States. The country code is #700, meaning it landed and was purchased in Canada. If you wait long enough Rolex AD's in Canada will someday offer a discount, I got 11% off on mine, but i've bought several watches from this AD. |

alright.... i've been reading up more on the submariner and i see that there's rumour that rolex will be releasing an updated version of the sub with a ceramic bezel, like the GMT IIc. or are they only leaving the ceramic bezel for the gold sub? (since i know that the currently sub in white gold has a ceramic bezel already).
is there are HUGE difference between the current sub bezel and the ceramic one? |

I have, and love, the SS/Platinum YM, but frankly that's because I'm a woman, I loved the look of Rolex's professional models (especially the TT "Bluesy" Sub) and the YM was the only woman's professional model by Rolex. If I were a guy I'd go for the Sub as the first Rolex.
