The black sub rings on the white dial look unusual to my eye. Is that original? What year is it? Both are gorgeous.

Micashol

I had to go look up what APH dial meant! Interesting article I found about those ‘mistake dials’. Very cool. I learn something new every day.

I read your post with this same pic how a RSC replaced crystal the on this watch with a non-etched coronet version. What year is your serial first letter ?

When I sent my 16520 to RSC , they required changing mine. I asked if the replacement crystal will have the etching or not as mine didn't I was told RSC still uses non- etched crystal for models that were sold before that tech was used. They try to keep it period correct.

The etched crystal started showing up in 2001 and all watches except the Milgauss has them by 2003/2004 . Maybe they thought your model didn’t have it originally. Who knows for sure.

I just went to look; it is a Z. According to the info I can located makes its born on date: 2006. It seems that the etched crystal would be period correct. Now I’m even more annoyed with Rolex service! I’ve called a different AD that I know and asked him to make some calls. I appreciate your responding and for a brief moment was hoping you were correct.

Sorry for the late reply LoveTheCrown. The white face is a 16520, Year 1997, U Serial, unserviced and unpolished. I hope the next picture comes out clearer / sharper...

Hi Micasol, Thanks, unfortunately it is not an APH error dial. I have seen one of those in the past. I hope the picture comes out a little sharper.

TMFAWZY

Much clearer. Looks like a Mark IV dial, last of the Tritium markers, T-Swiss-T dials. Gorgeous and I think it’s a Zenith. Hold on to that baby!

Thanks Sir, it is a Zenith Movement in there. And yes, I intend to hold on to it. Not sure if it is a Mk IV dial though, will go and do some research. Cheers.

I was told 6 months after buying a solid gold piece. But that wasn't in writing so... nope.

Official Daytona Owners Thread?

He’s wearing arguably the most popular watch in the last 20 years that is pretty much unattainable at ADs.

They reused Daytona history from previous articles.

Nothing new here.
