Hope I'm not boring you guys with more lighting - but the kids were playing so quietly and I just couldn't face another load of laundry, so here are a few more pics of some vintage fixtures:

Kitchen breakfast area (also can see my vintage restaurant cup and saucers - guess I collect those, too! Or used to and just never got rid of them!)

Loved this little guy's beaded bulb cover...

She was $20 at a junk store, without the bulb or socket...

Green slag glass - looks so pretty glowing...

Why are the curtains so messed up!?

Hallway fixture. We have 2 and I love the simplicity.

Thanks Lisa we love the house but being so old, 1896, we are always doing things to it. When our street was built the builder kept the house as his own. Its slightly larger than the others in the road and has a cellar.
One of the reasons we bought it was because of the original features, marble fireplaces in both reception rooms with original fireplaces and coving on ceiling with picture rails. The four bedrooms have original fireplaces as well. Need to replace the sash bay windows in our bedroom this year and a sash window in one of the boys bedroom

I love books, particularly pertaining to psych, biographies, human interest and science. I discovered a wonderful bookstore on the periphery of UC Berkeley's campus, and I am embarrassed to say that I cannot recall the name, but you can obtain almost anything out-of-print there. In Philly, I love Penn's bookstore. I could sit for hours, in perfect peace, drinking ice teas and reading. The combination of caffeine & interesting reading material = my addiction.

Pool cues!! But not anymore, actually want to downsize, since I'm shooting about 1 hour a week, whereas 4 months ago I was shooting 20-25 hours a week. The resale value is quite good, obviously not on a production, but on the custom ones

Callaway golf clubs (fairway metal woods), especially mid-late 90's vintage and 2000's vintage.

Collect cameras - the serious collection consists of a whole lotta Nikons and a few Rolleis . The less serious collection is a bunch of Soviet (Ukraine) 35mm rangefinders, FEDs, Zorki, Kievs. 1939/40 New York World's Fair memorabilia. Damn eBay.

Used to collect Alfa Romeos - down to one now, one isn't a collection, right?

I collect diecast muscle cars most of which I have driven or been in. Chris Reeve knives, Benchmade limited edition or pre-production run knives, and pins from states I've visited, law enforcement related or Olympic related.

Lately it's been vintage 70's receivers. Both are in great condition for being 30 years old.

Here's a Yamaha CR-1020 before I set my basement system up.

And here's my Sansui 8080DB that's in my home office.

Arby, that Sansui receiver takes me back to the good old days. I'm currently using two Crown DC300a amplifiers and an IC150a pre-amp in my stereo system. My tuner is an old Marantz 115b, the CD player is Nakamichi Music Bank, Philips DCC900 player, the turntable is an B&O Beogram4004 and my speakers are Klipsch Chorus II's. The sound is really tight and enjoy my vinyl more than the cd's!!!

Did someone mention audio?

My wife and I are big into high-end audio. We've had to get rid of some things in order to fund a business, but this was our system.

Wright Sound 2A3 15W push-pull triode tube amplifiers
Lamm LL2 Deluxe preamp
1978 modified Klipschorn speakers
Modified CDP/Squeezebox

When funds permit, we already have our dream system picked out, which will include the Acapella Excalibur Triolon speakers:

Those Klipsch Chorus II's must sound sweet! If I were to use a Straight up Amplifier it would be Crowns like yours or a vintage Phase Linear combo.

The Sansui 8080DB is hooked up to a pair of Boston Acoustic A150 Series I speakers ( I re-foamed the woofers myself ). The room is only 10' x 10' so it can (and does) get pretty loud in there . The music is either the Receiver or audio off my computer.

The Yamaha in the basement is hooked to a pair of Cerwin Vega DX-7s and a pair of JBL 4408s. I'm looking for a nice set of speakers for the basement system. I'd put the DX-7s with my 2nd pair of DX-7s in the family room for the Home Theater surround setup. The Turntable is a "mint" Technics SL-1200Mk2. I also have a 5CD changer. The basement system also has the ability to play music from my computer upstairs via the house wireless internet thru a Omnifi-DMS1.

Boa, you system is very nice. I'd love to hear a pair of Klipschorns. You're lucky to have a wife as much into hi-end audio as you are. My wife puts up with my new hobby. To her it's my "old junk".

I am indeed very lucky to have a wife who, when it comes to speakers, says "size matters, and the bigger the better".

Arby and Howard, Thanx for showing me your set ups. There is nothing that sounds better than two channel stereo!!!
Funny, my wife doesn't mind the stereo equipment but when she's in the kitchen or living room she prefers a $40.00 boom box. Go figure!!!
