Is there two models of Explorer 2? I have seen both 36 and 40mm.

There are:

Explorer - 36mm
Explorer 2 - 40mm

Never heard of 36mm Expy 2.

First off Welcome to the Forum!

I believe you have seen the Explorer I which is the 36MM (pictured here)

And the Explorer II(40MM), which comes in Black dial and White Dial Versions.
