Nobody needs to buy every watch they see to know if it's for them. Call this "bias" if you like, but in this context it's simply a matter of taste - which is the very subject of this thread.

Any conclusion drawn from the preferences of people who own both watches is irrelevant. As I've already pointed out, it's a selective sample of people who already have an extremely strong predisposition toward both watches. Making matters even worse, the DSSD is newer and harder-to-get, so it likely wasn't even available when many of those predisposed individuals bought their GMT-IIcs.

Now we find out that they express a preference for the newer watch for which they had to pay more money? Of course they do, or they probably wouldn't have gone out of their way to buy it. That "fact" is a junk statistic that tells us nothing useful.

I like the DSSD of those two choices. The GMT is nice but I like the DSSD a bunch more.

IIc is my vote. As others have pointed out, the IIc is much more practical and functional. Aesthetic wise, it's up to the individual perspective.
