Czapek

Anyone have one? Thoughts/reviews? Who’s excited about their sport watch (Antarctique) release next week?

A well known collector brought one to a gtg and he was happy with it and it was nice on the wrist. Seems like they make good watches. I wish them well.

Is Czapek still directly connected to the former Patek partner?

Or somebody just bought the name?

The second IIRC.

Movement is cool but if I wanted a Royal Oak I would buy one instead of this lol

I think it checks a different box especially with the easy of swap to a rubber or leather bracelet. It's more directly comparable to the VC Overseas IMO. I have a 5711 and I'm considering getting this one. Something different, you know?

Awesome new release. That's what the Lange Odysseus should have been imo

I think it's absolutely lovely. Thin, not too large (though personally I'd prefer it 1mm smaller), a great movement, gorgeous bracelet, and interchangeable straps. I think they're on to a winner.

Nice piece and good luck to those who go for it.

18,000 CHF does seem a very high price especially for a brand that has yet to fully establish it self. I think if I was in the market for this type of watch then the Vacheron Constantin Overseas is the winner here especially the latest iteration with the quick change strap system.

Except that it's heavy and thick and kinda clunky in the flesh - all the things this isn't. Must admit I really wanted to like it...

I have one — the Czapek Quai de Bergues in aqua blue. I have to say, it's an awesome watch. Easily up there with the other high-end pieces I've had. The dial is amazing and I love the way they do the case, carving out some material to give it visual interest. I'm not 100% yet on the new sports watch, but the one I've got is fantastic — especially on the blue rubber strap.

Steel sports watches is a crowded and tough segment of the market. You try something new like ALS you risk getting beaten up, you go more main stream like Czapek you risk looking a little uninspired.

This one is eye-pleasing and has got a cool movement, but it is also quite middle-of-the-road and not at all edgy in terms of design IMO. Even the bracelet looks like it is just different (from the RO) to be different.

So far the Moser Streamliner is the only recent steel sports watch release that I find very attractive.

Just found some hands-on video footage of the new Antarctique: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bjbTGwzDKW4

It's definitely not a bad looking watch.

It's an interesting movement. I'm partial to the UJ sports watch among the new round of classy/sporty watches.

It looks fabulous. Gonna have to find somewhere in London to try it.

I haven't owned one or even handled in person, but I have to say... based on the videos and photos I've seen, outside of royal oak and nautilus, the antarctique is easily my favorite integrated stainless steel sports watch.

I was fortunate to get the Orion Nebula. Also last Saturday I spent 45 minutes on a zoom conference with the CEO of Czapek and the US rep. They discussed the new watch and showed me the prototype to the Antarctique nebula. Mighty humbled with this service.Name: Adjustments.jpg

Congrats, that makes us two! I hear the Nubula is all sold out and apparently quite a few more people wanted one.
