Winding Box Necessary?

Are winding boxes necessary if you don't wear your rolex all the time?

My everyday watch is a breitling...

I wear mine all the time. But I assume if you wear it every few days, that would be the proper care. This way it is not always worn and stopped...so on..

I do not want to mess up the rolex...The breitling has been through a beating and still looks great!

All depends on your preference? Do you find it a chore to set the date? Are you the kind of guy that gets up and go?

It's all a matter of convenience esp with watches that has moon phase etc.

I don't wear the rolex everyday because I don't want to beat it up...I want it to look pristine!

IMHO they are not worth bothering with, unless that is you have vintage Rolex's without the quick-set date change function, or grand complication calendar movements like Patek Philippe.

Keeping them in a watch box with the movement stopped, if not being used for more than a month at a time will suffice.
