I need your help TRF

Kia ora everyone,

I just got off the phone with my best friend's wife (I've known him for 33 years, my whole life) Yesterday, while at work he was crushed by a gantry crane. He has no external injuries but sustained severe internal trauma. They managed to stop the internal bleeding during the surgery, but they discovered his pancreas had also been badly damaged. Now they say it's a waiting game to see if infection will set in, which will put his other organs at risk of failure. Being all the way in Japan I feel absolutely useless, there is nothing I can do for him or his family except pray. So I'm asking for my friends here on TRF to pray with me, his name is Alistair. His wife's name is Janetta and their two children are Emma and Jacob.

Thank you.

Thanks everyone. I still can't believe it. I was just talking to him on Friday night. It's really scary how things like this can just happen, but I guess that's why they call them accidents. Thanks again, your players are really appreciated.

That's so true. You hear about things happening to other people and it is easy to forget that it could happen to someone close to you. Thank you.

Thank you. Just thinking about his condition makes my eyes water and I'm not the crying type of guy, but he was more like my brother than a friend, so thank you all so very much for your prayers and kind words.

That's extremely disturbing and sad news, Ryna. Alistair will be in our thoughts and prayers.

Such a tragedy.......very sad. Hope he's able to make a full recovery.

Thanks JJ. They won't know if he's out of the woods until April 6th. They said it'll take about 10 days to assess if any infection has set in and if it is having any effect on his lungs. However, the docs seem to think that it'll be highly unlikely for him not to develop complications due the nature of the injuries. Again thank you.
