Hey, I wasn't the one delaying things IS, I was waiting for the AD to get back to me, which he did yesterday. Now its down and dirty time - how do get the price as best as possible and make a final decision. I am going to have to decide in the next couple of days, so this thread will come to an end soon enough! So IS, what would you do?

I would walk in to the store with 19K in $100 bills, put it on the counter and tell him this is what I have..
If he says no, walk out the store and I guarantee he'll call you within a couple of Hrs'...........unless he's a member here and have read it all... |

I agree, 19K cash. You said you don't really need (as in you wouldn't have any real regrets if you passed) the watches so why not go for the lowball. If he says no, oh well. If he says yes then you got an even better deal. I bet it would be hard for the AD to pass on 190 $100 bills.

Nylawbiz. Have you ever looked at any of your other Rolexes and thought
"I wish I had never bought that one" If you have the spare cash of course you should buy them. If you can negotiate a better price that just sweetens the deal. |

I say go buy them or give us a rest.He gave you his price. The price you wanted in the begining. Now sh@#t or get off the pot as they say.I have a cousin the same way hes the most undecided thriftiest person you will meet.He can never decide if its a good deal or if he got the BEST deal and when the price goes where he wanted it to go he says oh maybe i should get a better deal maybe they will get cheaper Its risky etc etc.NY Go buy them and post pics for all to see!
Good luck.

Brian,
That is a good deal I would buy all three. I would not haggle the $6-700. In terms of the tax... have the watches shipped out of state and the problem is solved. The AD will do that for you. Just make it part of the deal. I was just there Friday and picked up an AirKing for my better half. She got 15% off and no tax shipped out of state. Well, please post pics when all is done. |

I wouldn't walk in with cash, over $10K cash and you and the dealer get into the having to report the cash cash sale, a check is much better.

Ill be honest. You are never going to get much better of a deal then this guy already gave you imho. Now it's just a question of yes or no.. Ship out of state and you just got 28% off which is unheard of for these watches. I would not hagel over 5 or 6 hundred bucks. IMHO you are geting a steal already. Regardeless of the economy this guy still has overhead I would not want to try to kill him over a few hundred. Just my .02 probably not worth much. Also you dont want every time you go in there to be that guy. If you know what i mean the economy will bounce back but if you insault him the deals probably never will.

This thread is like The Neverending Story.
Go in there with $18,000 and put it down and see if he takes it. Realistically, at some price point here he's basically giving you a watch for free, and that seems a bit much to expect. |

over here... some rough sums (at rrp)
dssd £5800 ish daytone £6200 ish gv £4200 ish £16200 using an exchange rate of 1 GBP = 1.418 USD for 30/12/2009 = $22689 over here you would not be able to get all three from one ad at one time...

Brian: that's a lot of cabbage. However, if money isn't a problem, and you love all three watches, why not? I would personally prefer a vintage manual wind Paul Newman myself(and i know where one is too), but they go for about $16-$18K even in this economy, all by themselves. If you only want the 'latest' and 'greatest' when it comes to Rolex, then by all means, indulge yourself, and best of luck on making a great deal !

Never take the first offer. You can and will do better. Offer $19k and settle somewhere in between that you are comfrotable with.

I quite like this thread, it's very Tantric.
My threads seem to suffer from premature conclusions, two pages at best. Anyway, back to the movie.
