FS: 1968 Rolex Daytona 6239 "Paul Newman" Dial
FS: 1968 Rolex Daytona 6239 "Paul Newman" Dial
Serial #: 1782XXX Description: Case: The excellent and thick case just returned from polishing. The stainless UPH bezel is also freshly polished and in excellent condition. Dial: The matte black "Newman" dial is very clean showing light wear from use. The outer ring has aged a light creamy hue and shows some very subtle spotting between the 2 and 3 and just next to the 5 o'clock markers. The subdials have aged to a light creamy hue and show light patina from age. All lume plots are fully intact with the exception of the 3,8 and 9 o'clock marker which is missing part of its luminous mass. The lume has aged to a light creamy hue and the hands are matching. All lume glows brightly when exposed to UV and falls off rapidly at the same rate which is correct for Daytonas of this era. Bracelet: The 12link oyster bracelet is excellent and very tight. The clasp is stamped with a 1970 date code. Accessories: None. Notes: All hype aside the "Newman" dial Daytona is an avant-garde design that is one of the rare examples of Rolex stepping outside the box Offered at: $169,550 Feel free to text me at (415) 260-9129 or email me at [email protected] with any questions that you may have.
