Newly Acquired GS SBGJ237 Hi-Beat GMT

I used to have the springdrive variant of this gmt, SBGE001 but sold it.
Didn't like the springdrive movement as it felt soul-less.
I am only interested in GS Sports model, the other classic pieces are too dressy for my liking.

So I saw something new from GS on the Hodinkee site.
SBGJ237 with GS Hi-Beat Movement 9S86, ticking at 36,000 beats (buttery smooth ticking as compared to the sweep by springdrive). Ticks my boxes for another GS. Went to the boutique, took a look at the dial and my card is out, luckily it was the only piece that they got in the day before.
Loving every second of it. Got to say GS improved their bracelet quality, with added microadjustment at the clasp, good for people like who're anal about their watch fitment on the wrist. The bezel insert shows different shades of blue off different light reflections.
The lume is pretty amazing too! and man, the Zaratsu polishing, i can use the watch side case as a mirror.

Oh Lord you got it!

That is my grail watch at the moment. In fact I have two vintage Rolex I am prepping to sell to acquire it.

Absolutely stunning. Lucky you! Enjoy!

If it's your 5513 on your profile don't sell it....or sell the Tudor prince Chrono to me

No! I’d never sell the 5513. It was my grandfather’s.

It’s two 34mm references that I don’t wear

Oh...this is awesome. Looks like these are out now. Was just commenting on another thread about these. Stopped a couple of weeks ago to see when the green and blue would be released. Hopefully they won’t be too hard to get, lol.

Interesting OP how you like automatic versus springing drive. Since this might be my only GS, was sort of bummed out it wasn’t a spring drive.

Is the green boutique only?

yes green is boutique only.

spring drive seems lifeless. never like quartz anyway. mechanical ftw.
just like i don't like hybrid cars haha

OP. How does it wear? I’m interested but I think it might be too much even for a 7 1/2 to 7 3/4 wrist.

If it wears like 42 mm Explorer 2 I’m tempted before looking at one.
