Tudor Princess
I don't know if I should post this here, or the Vintage forum, so moderators you can move it if you wish...
Thinking about picking up a Tudor Princess for the Spousal Unit. She isn't a watch person at all, but figure it would be a nice gesture from me and perhaps get her interested in watches. Call me selfish, but I don't want to spend a mint on a watch that will most likely see little use, so a preowned Tudor will fit the bill methinks. Concern is the movements in these watches, and what I should look for. I know some Tudors used A.Schild movements and there are service issues with those? I want something that is gonna be a workhorse and reliable as she's hard on things. Side note, I bought her a nice Tissot when we got married that I am taking to my local watchmaker for a service today. |

She's probably not going to appreciate a Tudor buddy. Get her diamonds.

I had the same predicament with my wife. She already has diamond earrings and a couple of diamond necklaces. I don’t see the point in buying her more diamonds as they have terrible value retention.
I bought her a pre-owned Jaeger LeCoultre Reverso first to see how she’d take to watches. She loved it so much so her next big present a couple of years later was a new 31mm Datejust with fluted bezel. |
