Rolex Submariner DOB

Hi,

I am looking to acquire a Rolex Submariner (no date) from 1983 (my DOB).

Can anyone else with the following questions please:

01 - Reference: I always thought the reference was 5513 as that was produced up until 1989, but I see most on Chrono24 listed as 16800. Can anyone provide any insight on this?

02 - Colour: some of the hour markers show up as silver, where as others look like a faded yellow. Can anyone explain why. I personally like the faded yellow look as it looks more vintage.

03 - Bezel Marker: again the dot at the top of 12 on the bezel seems to vary in colour. Any information on why this is, would be great too, thanks.

Thanks in advance for your help.

1:16800s are submariner dates, completely different model.
2:color variances in markers is due to the way the tritium has aged. This varies greatly due to age, storage, servicing etc over the years.
3: same as dials, these bezel pips on vintage watches are supposed to be tritium, modern pips and dials use luminova which doesn’t age

With respect to #2, the OP may be talking about the white-gold ring surrounding the tritium. Tritium lume from the 1980s may be almost any shade of yellow, ranging from very pale to "pumpkin", but I wouldn't describe it as silver.
