I think I'm interested in converting my YG 116508 bezel to ceramic. How do you source the parts? Thru RSC?

Looks good. But I wonder if it was worth the hassle ?
I bet the price of your 116520 plus the ceremic bezel you sourced (which I’m sure cost am arm and leg) are more than if you had just sold your 116520, put some small difference and got a born 500

Some call it a hassle. Others call it a hobby.

For those asking about the parts, most folks are coy because RolexUSA(at least)frowns on selling parts rather than replacing them. I had to turn over some stones to get OEM Oysterflex halves for my 116500 and will not share my source as I was asked not to. Suffice to day Rolex parts are very expensive at MSRP and some sources will mark them up as well. I suspect these came from outside of the US where rules seem to be more lax at the distributor level.

The most impressive part of the OP is the fact some here can get genuine sourced Rolex Daytona dials and ceramic bezels. Here in the USA CW21's apparently can't get any parts for Daytonas anymore so off to RSC they go for service. Rolex keeps a tight ship on dials and bezels, and clasps.

Very cool and I’m not usually a fan of making a watch look like something it’s not. I like that this is a SS watch that looks like a slightly different SS watch. Not a WG or PT watch.
It would be even cooler if you got the tools and learned to do it yourself! Having seen it done, are you tempted to try it yourself or are there too many tools needed?

All awesome points/thoughts/questions. I did not in fact pay an arm and leg and if I had I would’ve done that very thing. Sell mine and put the “parts” money with it and buy a true 116500. As a matter of fact I considered that very idea. Like a lot. So when I finally found my perfect set of parts I went the mod route. Also keep in mind I can sell the original clasp and bezel to further more get back to zero difference. I might actually come out ahead. I’m telling you I worked on this for a looooong time. As far as where I got both? I’d really like to keep that under wraps but as the other member so accurately stated they both came outside the US from very very very very well trusted legit sellers. At the end of the day I love it and I assure everyone this was a well thought out idea and financially it was also a smart decision.

Ok, great and all, but now that you've taken the baby steps this really needs to happen on an 116509.
I'm kidding, but that would be quite the update imo. Enjoy the watch! It's yours - do with it as you please.

Looks great, but I really do think you should keep the parts you took off just in case you ever want to switch it back or sell it.

Do you have a pic of the back of the bezel for the 116500?? It’s pretty difficult to source. And I was able to find a couple but fear if May not be genuine. I bought one before that had a Rolex symbol on back but the colors was way off. Sent that back and been on the hunt again.. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

That looks wonderful That being said, I am even more impressed by the fact that you were able to source the parts! Well done.
