Fyi, I'm getting hit up by this person by email (which went to spam): Thomas Morgan <[email protected]>

With a message that doesn't sound legit given I haven't provided any pictures for this person to say "the watch looks nice" and the link doesn't lead to a collection:

Hi,

Thanks for your quick message, Am purchasing the watch for my wedding anniversary. The watch looks nice. Any flaws?

I am ready to proceed with payment and shipping.

Btw Will you be interested in trades, See below for my collections

Thanks

Yeah, sorry, the link above correctly directs to TZ and not some other ill-intentioned site, but the post has nothing to do with this person's collection. Apologies for any confusion.

Googling "Thomas Morgan scam" returns a few results, this one was interesting as it sounded familiar to something else I had read about recently (but can't recall what exactly):

https://www.facebook.com/MilitaryRom...5951022084303/

Text if you don't want to click on the link above:

SCAMMER: TOM MORGAN

From the messages:

"He hasn't asked me for money or anything his name is Tom Morgan says he is a lt. Col. Serving in Afghanistan on the bomb squad. He's told me a hell of a lot about himself that is mum is Australian his dad died some years back about his previous partner etc. I met him on pof we have been talking for over a month bus email. He want to get leave to come to Australia to meet but his pass has expired & he said he can't access his funds on deployment by hasn't asked me for the money (I have none to give anyway) I questioned him about it he said no he doesn't want my money or anything. Do U.S. soldiers have access to their funds on deployment & are they allowed laptops/iPads etc to communicate with loved ones? I asked him for his APO & he said a con artist can get that anyway? Is this true? Any information you can give me is appreciated."

In response:

1 & 2) "He wants to get leave to come to Australia to meet but his pass has expired & he said he can't access his funds on deployment ..." - Soldiers don't get "passes" with an expiration date. They get specific leave dates. Soldiers who can get to a computer can get to their bank accounts -- they are mandated to have direct deposit to a bank account.

3.) Do U.S. soldiers have access to their funds on deployment (Yes!)

4.) Are they allowed laptops/iPads etc to communicate with loved ones? Yes - and most have them!

5.) I asked him for his APO & he said a con artist can get that anyway -- well, clearly this one IS a con artist who can't provide and APO. ALL deployed Soldiers have an APO and should be both able and willing to provide it without asking for permission!
