Thanks for your input! Do you happen to know if there is any way to detach some of the links? It seems like this old bracelet does not have any links with screws, like the later models have, and the bracelet is too big for me even when the clasp is adjusted to the tightest setting.. Thanks for your response! Your watch looks great! In your opinion, is this watch a hassle to maintain/service because of its age? Best, Daniel Skickat från min iPhone med Tapatalk |

I really love how the watch looks on my wrist but I am a little concerned about future services because of the potential strigel to find parts..

Does anyone know how to date this bracelet?
I have found a 4 digit number on the buckle and some scratched letters/numbers (hard to see what it says) on the inside of the end links. See pics Skickat från min iPhone med Tapatalk |

Only 18 links in the President bracelet... Does it fit OK? I have 23 in mine, and it only just fits...

Ok do you have the same bracelet with the same clasp? All the ones that I have seen with this older style has 19 links like mine. The concealed clasp styled bracelet has more. Actually it is waaay to loose, have to go see a goldsmith to remove some links haha Skickat från min iPhone med Tapatalk |

Mine has the hidden clasp. It's a white gold 1803 from 1969. It came with 21 links, and I had to add a couple extra. It took me ages to find them!

Cool, is it a japenese made bracelet as well? I have the tiniest wrists imaginable so bracelets are always an issue for me.. Skickat från min iPhone med Tapatalk |

Hi! I was wondering if I could ask you a question. I have noticed that my 6605 runs too slow.. almost 60 sec/day! It’s consistently slower so it’s not jumping between slow and fast. Do you have any experience with this from your watch as well? Is it expected from a watch of this age? Best! Daniel Skickat från min iPhone med Tapatalk |

Mine runs at 15 secs per day (give or take), and I seem to remember that someone spent a lot of time getting one of these to within a few seconds, but it was a labour of love – after 50 years the individual movements need to be treated as such, and that takes a lot of skill, knowledge and time
Even then, what works in a workshop may be different to what works on your wrist. That’s a pretty big rabbit hole to be going down given the visible condition of your movement My 16030 gains 2.4 seconds a day, and has since I bought it new in 1988. So, I set it 30 seconds slow at the beginning of each month, knowing that in 30 days time, it will be around 45 secs fast. The deal with “chronometers”, is that they are absolutely predictable day in, day out. Thus, if you know when the time piece was set, you can accurately calculate the correction from there For me, that’s fine. The 16030/3035 is on my wrist 24/7, and on any day I can tell you to within a second the exact time, while only adjusting the crown 12 times a year (which I’d do most months anyway) My 6605/1065 might take that to 15 secs, but then I rarely wear it for days anyway. I set it, put it on, then go out to dinner somewhere with the wife. “Accuracy” is a relative term, and we don’t always need it. 15 secs after 53 years is fine, so is 2.4 secs after 33 years, and God help you if you have the new 32xx movement So – yes, your watch “could” be made to be more accurate, but do you really need it to be ? … |

Thanks for that elaborate reply. I actually had the watch serviced and the watchmaker switched out the balance axis and after that the watch has really good specs when testing it through a timegrapher. Although in real usage the performance is still weird.. even worse loss of seconds/day now. I don’t understand this, since the graph on the timegrapher looks way better now. You’re right in that I don’t really need the watch to be accurate.. it’s just annoying to the OCD part of me that it isn’t... maybe I shouldn’t have bought a 63 year old watch if I was looking for accuracy haha.
