Is the SeaDweller 16600 in Demand??

Evidently, there is not a huge demand for it where I live in the southeast. I went to an AD in Nashville, TN yesterday (Jareds) and they had a 16600 in the case. I asked to see it. Reportedly, it was brand-new. I feel pretty certain that it was new, because I cannot imagine a large chain like them getting into trouble trying to sell used watches. This was the thing........The watch had a green hologram sticker on the back of it. Didn't Rolex stop using the hologram with the Y-serial or F-Serial?? If someone could confirm when approximately Rolex quit using the hologram, I would appreciate it. I asked several times to know what the serial number was, but they acted like they couldn't figure it out. They could tell that I knew more than the average Joe, so I suspect that they really didn't want me to know just how old it really was. I tried to see if I could get a little bit of a deal on it, knowing how long it had been in their possession. They wouldn't budge on the price.

They were very nice though. At one point, the manager called one of the salespeople over and said "Hey, you need to talk to this guy for a bit. He knows more about Rolex than I do!" I actually had a good time discussing watches with them for a while. They actually seemed interested in watches and wanting to learn more, but just didn't know where to go to obtain the information.

Anyone have any idea when Rolex quit using the Hologram??

Rolex stopped using the hologram on the back when it ceased to be an effective counterfeit measure and others became more effective, such as the engraved rehaut with serial number.

They were used as late as Z releases, so it is possible to still find some in the cases of Dealers without a high turnover.

I had a Z serial last year w/ the hologram. It was purchased new in the US, in December 2007.

I just bought another Z serial SD, and it was purchased originally in 2008. It does not have the hologram, nor does it have the clear sticker, so I'm not sure if it had the hologram and it was removed, or it never had one to begin with.

I purchased my Z dweller the mid of 2007. Shortly after which they stopped using the green hologram and switched to the credit card styled warranty.
