5513 Franken Watch ... help needed

I took a chance on this 5513 franken watch ...

The good:

- it has an original 1520 movement
- original 5513 IV68 caseback

The questionable

- bezel and insert (need to know your opinion for the insert ... real, fake, replacement, what year ...)
- the dial I believe is authentic, but is definitely relumed
- hands, also relumed

The bad

- case is a Tudor 7928/0 sub case
- bracelet is no name SS

Be kind, but be honest with your opinions

I think a franken would drive me crazy but its about what you want out of it. I think at the end of the day you need to sort out the parts that bother you and sell off the parts that don't get used. If you ever sell it make sure you are clear to the next prospective buyer. Did you buy it because of the deal or because you want a 5513?

IMO, your best bet is just wearing it as-is, if you like it. Or part it out, if you got it cheap and have the patience and want the money. Rebuilding a franken-5513 from a movement and case-back wouldn't have much appeal to me.

Parting it out may be the plan ... but I want to at least be able to advertise the parts correctly ... don’t want to say it’s an authentic Mark III insert when it’s not ... etc ...

I agree. The placement of the L under the crown and the S in Submariner. Plus, the paint looks weak.

This.
And the minute track is odd, the markers at the lume spots seem too thin.

Excellent points... thanks...so dial is garbage too ... what about the bezel insert ... can that be sold? I definitely do not want to be involved in any fake stuff making it into the market.

Insert looks like a service piece to me, probably sell for 200$ and then start looking for a mark3 for abut 1500 lol

I wonder if you could flip it to someone here who would be better able to part it out?

To be honest, you should share more pics of the case - showing engravings. The case looks like a strong 7928 case which also makes me nervous if its genuine or not.

If you can, I would return it. This is a basket case of a watch.
