Rolex Submariner 116610 LV (Hulk) Date Cyclops
Hello All Watch Enthusiasts,
I am glad to join this forum and I am already enjoying to read about the different topics related to Rolex watches. I am a proud owner of Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch - pic attached. I recently acquired a Rolex Hulk 2017 (pics attached), it is an incredible watch that I enjoy wearing almost daily, I just can't stop looking at the amazing 3135 movement as well. However, I noticed that my date cyclops is not well centered, and this is starting to disturb me a bit (I don't get disturbed by scratches etc. although I already got a bad on on the clasp), but I would really want to seek your advice on how best to resolve this. Can the Rolex AD fix it without servicing? Cheers, Sami |

Great watches. An easy fix. Take it to your AD or contact Rolex and send it in while it is still under warranty.

Thanks William. I am travelling mid March and I will take it to Rolex AD. Unfortunately where I live in Tanzania, there is no AD available.
Why do you think the uncentering of the cyclops happened in the first place? Is this a common issue? I was thinking perhaps previous owner changed the crystal and was badly misplaced? Cheers, Sami |

It can be fixed under warranty.
Pity nobody noticed. Your AD will advise. |

I can't tell from the image, but perhaps the dial is not centered by just a small amount. fixing that might center the cyclops. I have a dial that when the watch was manufactured was not exactly centered under the crown of the rehaut. It gives the very very slight impression that the cyclops is misaligned. Whereby, if the dial were rotated just that little bit, the cyclops would correctly center / line up.

Is the hulk verified to be the authentic one?
Entire watch looks very off to my eyes

I'm no expert.... but the SEL's look a little soft.
If you have taken the back of the watch off, give us a photo showing the balance wheel.

Simple answer is take it to an AD before your 5 year warranty is up but bigger question...how are you looking at the movement though??? Kind of hard to do that through a solid case back isn't it?

The only way we can give you more advice, is to see the movement.... IF you've opened it up yourself OR if you have a Display back ()
Also, IF your Rehaut has a "3" in the serial number.... Rolex uses Flat top 3's.... Just check yourself.

It’s not the dial nor the crystal that need to be allowed it’s the placement of the cyclops that is misplaced “tilted counterclockwise.
Crystal need to be replaced in my opinion. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Geez I have never seen such bad misalignment before, my guess is that the crystal was reassembled at some point and it was a poor job.

Hi All,
Thanks for all your answers! I can imagine how that sounded, I don't actually look at the internal movement. I just meant I find my eyes gazing at the second hand smooth movement dial - considerably more than my Speedmaster, perhaps because it is still fairly new or because the moonwatch moving hand is small. I am adding some other pictures including the internal movement. Please feel free to comment if you think anything is looking off. I will be relieved only when I verify it at Rolex AD (bought from reputable watchmaker who is well trusted), but it looks original to me can't find anything off other than the cyclops and I even checked its weight 153 grams which matched with friend's hulk (154 grams). Cheers, Sami |

Hello Lads,
I thought I would have gotten some replies by now! Just an update - took it to Rolex AD and they indeed changed the crystal. My OCD levels are now in check. Thanks all for your advice. New pic attached. Cheers, Sami |

Had the exact same issue on my 2014 hulk - I ended up selling it because of how much the cyclops bothered me.

Great to hear Sami, enjoy the watch in good health.
As far as not getting more replies, the 3 naysayers below are too busy getting their eyes re-timed to COSC specs. Quote:

Nice that the crystal was changed. Is the dust close to 53 s and 05 s on the dial or the crystal? |

Should have kept it! I reckon its secondary market almost doubled since then! Honestly, I always thought wearing Rolex is a bit pretentious, and used to prefer my Omegas. However, I can see now that 99% of people don't even notice it or they just keep quiet about it..
