A Root Beer for the Ladies??

So as many do, I’m getting a Rolex for my wife as a wedding gift. It’s only fair since she got me a 114060, which is my favorite sub. This will be her first Rolex. She’s taken a liking to the Root Beer.

I absolutely love the CHNR but I don’t think I’ve seen one on the ladies. Thoughts? Anyone have any experience with the Root Beer for their lady?

My wife, who is skinny with stick wrists can rock a 40mm Rolex. She wears watches with bracelets like she wears bracelets. If a watch has a strap she wears it tighter. I gave her my Z-Blue. to go with her OP36. I miss it but I have to admit it looks better on her.

Oddly, or perhaps not, the Z-Blue does not look significantly bigger on her than her OP36 Grape. It's down to individual taste. If you think something looks good on you, it looks good. Applies to everyone.

You might consider the 37mm Yachtmaster, which is offered in "everose" gold and "Oystersteel", and a chocolate dial. That gives you the "root beer" color scheme but on a slightly scaled down platform. Not a GMT, but an elegant sports watch nonetheless.

My ex has worn the 37mm yacht master (a discontinued earlier version, with a sort of granite dial, a platinum bezel and polished center links on the bracelet, for about 13 years. She hated tiny "lady's" watches, but a Submariner was too big. The 37mm YM has been perfect for her.

My wife took the CHNR from me and she loves wearing it. She has a skinny wrist as well.

Don't see why not; if she likes it, go for it.

I've seen the CHNR on a woman's wrist before. Think this reference suits women best of all the 40 mm + dial Rolex watches.

No reason she can't wear it.

Thanks fellas for the links and the sage advice. It would be nice to walk in and try it on, but that’s just not possible with any AD around here, and there are quite a few within driving distance.

If her first thought was the Root Beer then that will be a winner for her. If you go into Nordstrom’s and look at the women’s watches most are larger. 40mm is def not out of the ordinary. Good luck finding the perfect gifts!!

I think YM 37mm is perfect for most women.

The best way is to show her the pictures of both Rootbeer and YM 37mm and let she makes the decision.

My wife got a CHNR a few months ago. She loves it. It looks amazing with all the various colors and textures that women wear. She also owns and wears a HULK. There is absolutely no reason a female can not wear a CHNR.

Also check 40mm steel/everose chocolate dial yacht master. 126621.

Thinner case, curved lugs, looks great on a woman.

We were at the AD a couple weeks back and had this conversation. I have some history there, so he went to the back and brought out a TT Rose Gold 40mm YM. It looked great, way better than I though it would look, and she liked it a lot, but still leaned Root Beer.

All of the newer rolexes now are perfectly suited to women's wrists as well as man's. Size appropriate for the wrist.

Cool you got to see and try them.

YM TT I think the colours and materials gel a bit more, overall slightly more low key look and fit. CHNR definitely more contrasts going on in colours and materials and finishes, plus case shape is also bolder.

Both very classy

My wife is quite petite and likes wearing my 40mm watches. However for our anniversary she chose the 37mm TT Yachtmaster with the chocolate dial and absolutely loves it.
