I have a Timex chronograph that has a black PVD finish and I've had it for fifteen years and it looks great.

I don't wear it as often as I should, but over the years it's had some serious wrist time.

Maybe Timex has some superior process.

When the OP posted the Tudor pic, it reminds me of my old Porsche Design chronograph which was my first nice watch. I purchased mine used 30 plus years ago and i wore it everywhere so it has the well used look. Your watch looks brand new. I believe Tom Cruise wore this model in Top Gun.

I do like this Tudor, but if worn frequently at work and play, the finish will take a beating over time. If it was currently offered, I might pick one up.

I remember Tom Cruise wearing this Porsche watch in his F 14 cockpit. Very cool. Mine was several years old at that point. If you’ll notice, it is PVD, it’s now 46 years old, been serviced twice by Porsche design but the exterior of the watch has never been restored and is completely original on the case and bracelet. I have actually worn this watch a lot over the years but mostly when I was doing studio production work timing B roll and editing for commercials. I guess working in the dark was good for the finish...
