I presume the responses you’ll get back will the themed, “buy the watch you like”. Others can’t make your purchasing decision for you. I generally don’t register interest in a piece if I’m not prepared to buy it should I like it once on my wrist.

My advice, visit the AD and try the watch. If you like it, buy it. If you don’t, politely decline the opportunity and explain your reasoning and hope your AD will call you for your next choice.

It is up to you and you only. It should be a watch for life that you will always be able to look at and smile. That being said, I love the Air King

Totally up to you, OP. Generally, if you’re doubting it, not a good sign. However, I did the same thing for my root beer but when I saw it in person at my AD... removed any and all question lol. Maybe go see it, try it on, and see how you feel?

You already answered your question. You said you’ll pass. Clearly you’re not all in on this model. Save the money and buy what you really want.
The AK is very polarizing. You either love it or you don’t. Having said that, I love mine.

C’mon man, do you like the AK? It doesn’t sound like it, so that’s an easy no. You’re asking us if you should buy “some other Rolex. What model? Don’t be a cuckold to Rolex.

If you like it get it. I think it’s a cool unique watch personally, but you would have to wear it at the end of the day.

That’s like walking into the Toyota dealership because you really like the Supra and the Land Cruiser and they offer you the Yaris.

It is a big heavy chunky watch. I love mine. Wish it were 39mm Exp 1 size but the 40 and thick case make it a suprisingly chunky option. If you have a big wrist and like big watches buy it. It is a great price. If they discontinue it (and I think they will) you have an instant classic.

Really difficult to say given you don't offer any of your own thoughts on the watch or possible alternatives. I personally wouldn't as I really dislike the current Air King, but it's a matter of taste and tastes are different.

If you're only buying it because it's a sports model that's actually available to buy from an AD but have reservations about the watch itself then I'd err on the side of caution.

Pass it and give the chance to someone who fancy it. Maybe you don't really want it but just reluctant to miss it especially with the current situation.

Probably close to the last Rolex I would ever buy if I'm being honest. Hold out for something else.

Go try it! You will either love it or hate it, I added one to my collection and it’s now my daily wear and is a pleasure to wear, I knew it as soon as the AD opened the box that I would have it!

The AK is pretty unattractive to me because it's clearly just an Explorer dial with green numbers that end in 5 all over it. Seems extremely lazy. Plus the case has the soft iron shield that shares with the Milgauss for even additional laziness. They basically had Explorer dials and Milgauss cases laying around and figured out the laziest way to use up extra part stock

You have to at least go and try it on. You’ll know as soon as you have it on, whether you want it or not.

It certainly doesn't get lost in the crowd of nearly identical watches and is a standout piece. Partner just got one a couple of weeks ago and everyone who sees it is stunned as they (as so many who have never even seen it in person yet put it down) assumed it was "not the watch for them" - until they see it on a real human's wrist that is!

Go for it!
