Don't wear it too loose - it wears off bracelets alot quicker.

Sorry to say, but the head watchmaker in Sydney sounds like a tosser.

If you don't really know if the watch is in "am" or "pm", all you need to do is go around until the date changes once, adjust the time accordingly, then quick set it to the desired date.

I would have reservations with leaving my watch with someone like that.

x2... I didn't think that re-setting the date also reset the watch to AM

Great story and interesting preferences....though it does make you wonder!

I can see his point about setting the date...having set the date and it failing to turn over at midnight, but others have pointed the simple solution. The bracelet spacing sounds logical as well, especially with older models that have a fixed bracelet. Some newer models have expanding links or bracelet features (GMT IIc, SDDS, etc...) which negates this point...

A Timex? Wow. But to be honest, when you go to the Porsche or BMW dealership and look at what the guys in the service department are driving, you don't see a lot of Carreras...but a lot of Hondas and Toyotas! Maybe this is a sign?!

Thanx for the info on this thread. It has made for interesting reading and the comments have been good. As for the bracelet on my Rolex I wear it tight against the wrist and the dial is on the underneath side of the wrist!!!
