I don't care what it tells other people. I am not defined by what watch or what clothes I wear. I do like what I think is the best, but all of that is subjective.

If a young good looking woman tells me she likes me becasue of my Rolex, I know she is telling the truth. If an average woman tells me she likes me becasue of my good looks, I know she is lying. Guess I will go for the shallow ones that tell the truth. I wear a Rolex for the chicks.

It says (to me) that I like a fine timepiece (or wristwatch if you prefer).

It's a little bit of all of the above. Started with me seeing it on a magazine spread, then the passion of fulling a dream of owning "it" one day. Kind of an expensive way for me to remind myself that life is real and so can our dreams.

All my Rolex does is just tell the time, and today there are millions upon millions of Rolex watches in this world today, so hardy a Status symbol if you are into that sort of thing.

Not sure what a Rolex tells people about you since the majority of people out there won't recognize a watch as a Rolex and if they do they assume it's a fake.
For those that do recognize the brand, generally I'd say it tells them I'm nuts to pay that much for a watch on my salary. |

The way I see it, the watch is the last thing they should notice.

I buy watches to please me and no one else. Some are vintage, some cheap and some are Omega's and Rolex's. Not sure except for WIS folks what anyone cares or thinks.

oops,
If I want mine to be a status symbol, I better clean the paint spatters of it first Actually, where I live (the "deep south"), Rolexes all over the place. So I think all it says is you like Rolexes, or just wanted something nice. Honestly, Rolexes are expensive FOR A WATCH, but not as much as a new roof, a new furnace, private school, a new transmission for an Audi Quattro, a vacation for 4, a new plasma TV, a bedroom set, the average engagement ring etc. I guess what I am saying that a Rolex does not say much about your financial status. Not in the same way as tooling around in a 150K Aston Martin, or something to that effect. |

I like to be a bit subtle about it and not be too in your face when I wear mine, I think the chicks prefer that kind of quiet sophistication Nothing worse than a show off
