Rolex, Breitling or Omega.
I guess the easy answer would be Rolex, but this poll is not as straight forward as the title is. A friend of mine saw my Glycine and wants it bad! The thing is I bought the last one in our local AD and buying online isn't an option for him, plus he likes the number 36 and mine is LE #036/350. He gave me a great offer on buying it but he wants me to trade up to one of his watches. I love the watch but I seem to be pampering it a lot and too worried about scratching off the PVD coat. So I decided to go ahead and trade!
Now for the hard part. The three watches out of his collection that had me interested are a Rolex Explorer I (not sure which serial but a 2007 model), an Omega Planet ocean (45mm with orange numerals, black bezel on black leater strap) and a Breitling SuperOcean Heritage (Chronograph, blue on blue rubber). The Rolex is simply stunning but I'm not sure about size, my wrists are only 6.5" and I still think it might be too small. Will try it on tonight to determine. The latter two both speak to me but are both a little more expensive since they are both BNIB! Also, I will have to buy a bracelet for them. What would you do? |

Thanks for voting guy. I am now definately over the Omega. It's either the Explorer or the BNIB SuperOcean Heritage. I will have to try it out to conclude. Anyone have any wrist shots? I'm not sure how it wears.

I voted for the Rolex, while the SuperOcean is one great looking watch, I have had three Breitlings, granted they were all older models a Chronomaster bought new, and two Wakmann's all three needed service again and again.....

way too big for Omega, I would go for SuperOcean. I believe Exp I is the right size.

I would opt for the PO but not the one that you have in your selections. I like the 42mm with all black and the rubber strap.
I own a few Breitlings and they make an excellent watch, the Breitling bracelets are better than the bracelet Rolex uses on the Subs and Explorers. For me the EX1 is a nice looking watch in pictures, just too small for my likings. |

i would get the explorer.
my wrists are 6.5" as well. it's about the right size i think, but if you like the oversize watch thing it will be too small. sorry about the dirty shot. . .hiking in winter with my explorer. |

Love the Explorer. The size shouldn't put you off. It is the classic tool watch.

LOVE THE EXPY ON THE NATO!!!
I was just looking at getting one yesterday. That seals the deal! To the OP: I have the Explorer and a 42mm PO and a 6.75" wrist. When I was shopping for my PO, I had the 45mm PO on and it was clown-like on my wrist. Of the two the Explorer is perfect for fitting under the cuff of a dress shirt, sharp looking and is a Gentleman's Go Anywhere, Do anything watch. Sorry, don't have any perspective on the Breitling... |

You should have posted a pic of your Glycine, if it is the model I am thinking of, I would seriously think twice before trading it.

Thanks a lot guys for your feedback and pics (arkansas ), I'm almost set on the explorer. Will pass by today and try it along with the Breitling. If it does in fact wear not too small and the breitling is as large as something I can't pull off on my smaller rists then I will pull the trigger on the explorer.

On my 6.75" wrist the Explorer looks awesome. The largest size I feel comfortable with is the Submariner. Obviously it's very subjective to the individual. Best of luck with your choice.

My vote is for the Explorer I. I do like POs, but my wrists are 6.75 inches and I found the large size PO to be way too large, and did not sit very comfortably on my wrist. I think the Explorer I is one of those watches that look great on different straps too, i've seen some amazing pictures here on TRF. I think it's a fun, versatile watch that you just can't go wrong with.

Go for the Explorer. It will look perfect on your wrist. All very nice watches though!

Agree. . .
I have a 6.75" wrist, and I thought a 41mm watch looked stupid. So yes, the Exp I by a mile. Unless you are a large "ham wristed" person, stay with a 36mm watch. The dials are essentially the same diameter, you're just getting more real estate around it.

I voted PO based on the assumption that you would buy a bracelet.
Personally, I wouldn't do the trade. I love the PO but I have a 6.5" wrist and ended up going with the 42mm blk/white 2201.50 on bracelet. The 42mm is better proportioned and fits better imo. Also, I don't care for the orange #s The Breitling and Explorer do nothing for me. Between the two I would go w/ the Explorer. |

The Explorer got my vote aswell. The Breitling Heritage is a HUGE watch and measures in at a whopping 46mm! For a wrist thats 6,5" I think it would wear you instead of the other way around.
It is a really nice watch though, heck they all are, but the the Explorer just wins this one hands down due to the size |
