1675 - should I buy a new bezel

Hi all

I have owned what I thought was some Vintage Rolex before. But I have now purchased my first 1675 with a fuchsia bezel insert.

Do these bezels fetch a premium? I personally prefer red and blue and May swap it.

I assume you looked at several pieces before buying and noticed the price differences, no?

I looked at many, this was the best price one, i have seen these bezels list at a premium but i would honestly prefer to sell it and buy a red / blue.

But the question is do they actually sell for that high or just get listed with no takers?

They sell high. You could get a 16610 submariner watch for the price of some of the best Fuscia inserts. They are higher than red/blue. But, of course, it depends on condition.

Amending my answer to clearly say: yes. They sell at 6k, 7k and more, based on condition. I paid in that range for mine, from a well known 1675 collector.

Is this a legit insert? The font looks a little fishy to me. My personal opinion is that this insert would not fetch a premium. The way it is faded looks artificial. Again just my opinion, it could just be the picture.

I have doubts on OP's fuchsia being genuine, better pics will confirm... If genuine, I've seen them listed for about $5k... Some sell some dont

Yes I doubt the cheapest 1675 mark 1 dial would have a 5k insert attached to it for free….although better pics would help

My reasoning is, the fuchsia insert you have installed does not appear to be a Rolex insert. Bigger, better, clearer images would put this issue to rest but I definitely would not buy that insert based on the image provided.

And while I'm at it I don't really like the case either... Who sold you this watch, you mentioned a dealer in your DM?

Ive got a good handful of stories re. purchases from collectors that wound up being not so honorable. There are collectors and there are “collectors”

Good question lol……remove and it let’s see the back of it…..I’d be willing to bet it’s a blue back reproduction that is selling on eBay right now for 250$

Any chance you can pop the bezel and insert of the watch? Would be good to see the reverse of the insert!!

I'm more convinced now having seen your images that the insert is not correct. Where did you buy this watch?

Thanks Andy...and how true this is. Many collectors have been sold watches or parts that are not correct or are fake, aftermarket or whatever you choose to call them.

I brought it from eBay from a guy called mf.design.tek

Why do you say it’s not authentic? What makes you think it’s not?

So the guy that sold it us 100% committed a criminal offence. Not cool.

So, as I stated in the email, there is a aftermarket, artificially faded, and original. I do not think this is the aftermarket superfake - fonts are different. But I do think it has been artificially faded.

I also said to see what Lee Fowler and Springer (JP) have to say ; )

Getting a photo of the back of the insert helps.

A sizeable percentage of the comments you will get are from people that have never owned one. Lee and JP have seen a ton of these and I trust them, usually ; )

I also think you need to chill out just a bit, take a deep breath, and we'll try to help you through this. Not negative intention at all - just relax a bit, have an adult beverage, and see what the guys think.
