Trade Opinion Needed: BLNR AND CHNR for SS Daytona White Dial
Hey TRF. Need some honest opinions. Thinking about trading my used BLNR Jubilee and CHNR two tone for a SS Daytona White Dial Brand new. My only other Rolex is my BLRO Pepsi on Jubilee which I’m never getting rid of. Would you say that it’s an even trade or am I completely losing on that one? Thanks for your kind remarks. Haha

Good evening. Listen, the Daytona is a very nice watch, but I can't get anywhere close to justifying this trade. Good luck as I know the heart wants what the heart wants!

Keep one GMT and add some cash to the trade.

Certainly not an even trade. Not by a long shot!
That said..., watch-buying should be a "decision of the heart" IMO (within reason obviously), and if the Daytona will mean more to you then go for it. Not everything in this hobby has to be financial in nature. |

if you want the daytona more, and think you'll enjoy the daytona more, then by all means, YES. go for it and ignore everyone else. not a soul out here can tell you what's worth it to you.
you can run the math all day long based on a variety of bids and asks, you can get everyone's opinions about future direction of the market, but in the end they're all just watches and they speak to us all differently. from a strictly numbers standpoint based on current market, most likely not an "even trade," but hard to know without knowing condition and other factors. but again, who cares if it's something YOU really want to do. |

This is a trade that you will 10000% regret. This is coming from an owner of the 116500LN - trust me its not that special. |

pepsi and white dial daytona is a pretty sweet combination...money wise you lose by a mile ( at retail cost) at market price youre much closer to a 1:1 value.
if at all possible, sell both gmts and try to get a daytona from your AD, you could buy that and at least one more piece with the proceeds of your gmt liquidation |

I am a no vote!
I own the White dial Daytona and I would not trade 2 watches for that one. IMHO Good luck with your decision.

I'm going against the grain and saying do it
I prefer the variety of a GMT and chrono vs a bunch of GMT bezels, personally I would keep the BLNR and trade the Pepsi but that's just me |

I have a Stainless BLRO on jubilee and two tone CHNR and I wouldn’t trade either. I would ask if I could trade the BLNR plus cash for the SS white dial Daytona.
Having a panda/Pepsi/rootbeer lineup would be really nice! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I appreciate it. GMT is definitely my favorite. Such a versatile watch in my opinion and so comfortable on jubilee.
That’s some food for thought. I was thinking about selling the BLNR only. Quote:

No. Never. But Rolex doesn’t make a Daytona I’m interested where as I am a big fan of the two you’re considering trading.

Gmts were all purchased at retail. Thank goodness lol. I 99% know I wont get the call. 1% is hope. Yes that was another option too. BLNR would be the first to go for sure. |
