Combining the purchase of a Lady DJ with a BLRO?

Hi,
I'm buying a Gold/Steel Lady DJ for my wife and wonder if this could also give me a better chance of getting a BLRO/Pepsi at the same time?

Worth asking the AD or non-starter?

Better chance Of getting a BLRO in time, but not at the same time.
People generally need much more purchase history than just that.

Couple of year back it would have been possible.
Nowadays - I don't think so.
But it is still worth to ask.

FYI - in my part of the world the mint green dial on DJ31, especially with jubilee/fluted is a waitlist and difficult to get piece...let alone to ask for a bundle with SS BLRO.

When they bring your card and DJ watch back ask if they have any Pepsi hiding back there. Don't ask until you've paid though. That makes it look like you weren't really buying something for your wife but rather trying to get something for yourself.

I ordered a two tone DJ 31 for my wife, and I was told it is possible to get a BLNR within the next year. If it happens, then great, but I'm not getting my hopes up too high. We shall see.

I did this for my BLNR but that was in 2019 and it was more of the dealer’s “idea” than mine. Yes they were hard to get then but we all know it’s craziness now.

But anyway, probably unlikely but DEFINITELY worth asking. I would try to position the BLRO as your main purchase and tell them you will also buy a two tone lady’s Datejust at same time of purchase. Also it won’t hurt to take your wife in if you haven’t done so. I believe it helps.

I did exactly this in 2021 with zero history at the AD - worked for me.

Bundled a BLRO + 31mm TT Lady DJ.

Not sure it would work now though with the current craziness.

If I may offer a negotiating strategy:

Ask for the BLRO first (do not mention the Lady DJ). If the AD knows that you are already committed to the Lady DJ purchase there is no incentive on their part. But, if you ask for the BLRO and they respond, "Well, it will take a long time" or "It takes more spend" etc. Then come back with, "Well, I wasn't really wanting another watch, but what if I purchase a Lady DJ for my wife in addition?"

The AD will think they are getting an increased sale (they "broke you" / won the negotiation) and will put you ahead of the others on the list just wanting the BLRO.
