Starting top five
Bored on a Sunday other than watching the Masters I started cleaning and winding up a few which led me to think of the current state of my collection. You know when you’ve been collecting for over a decade you start to wonder what’s next and or why have I bought or had this or that.
So when I looked at these I came to the conclusion that these are the ones that barring a disaster are here to stay. Some of these took a lot of time and energy to get and make them that much special. Countless threads on TRF about sentiment when it comes to watch collecting and I figured I’d throw my “hat in the ring” 1. 2004 F serial 16600. The first watch my wife and I bought together as a couple many years ago 2. 2012 216570. First ever new purchase at my A D. Keep in mind back then there were much better deals here on TRF. Thousands under MSRP. The good ol days 3. 126715. First Everose and full PM Rolex that led to 4 and 5 4. 326935. By far my favorite and most worn. A black 326934 caused this as well. Just a massive massive SkyD fan after owning a SS model 5. 116515. I FINALLY completed my RG Trio with this one after months and months of interesting let downs and “almosts” 3, 4, and 5 have made up my mind that any future collecting is gonna be minimal at best. I did say when I did my 515 incoming I am done and atm I truly believe I am. I’ve looked at every single reference on Rolex.com and I see nothing that jumps out. Granted there are 2 or 3 that I definitely wouldn’t turn down but also ones that I know I will never ever get the call from my A D. Models I will not chase. 116505, 116506, and the new Platinum DD. At some point I’ll get around to posting the entire SS, and TT collection but these are the ones that are “close” to me. Via distance and meaning So without further delay here are some pics of models that have been seen many many times on TRF. Just thought I’d shed some light on why and what these 5 mean. Told you I was bored today

Amazing amazing collection! The rose gold models look the business and I’m a complete sucker for the black dial 216570. Well done! What’s up next?

That skydweller absolutely slaps on the wrist. I recall seeing one on a guys wrist shortly after it was released (original not the new stick dial) and I couldn’t take my eyes off it. Was like a super model walked in without a shirt on lol

Impressive collection.
Also interesting to see NC well-represented on TRF. I’m in Asheville, would be great to figure out how to get the Carolina WIS bunch together. |

I Would love to get together will some local watch enthusiasts. I’ve been told there is a N C watch club. Maybe on FB or something. I just don’t do much social media so I’m not sure. TRF is about the only site I frequent. Like everyday. Quote:

Yeah I love this thing. By far the most worn and it’s not even close. Granted the 515 made it for about 2 weeks in a row. Tough to take off a SkyD. Makes putting anything else on feel like a feather. The RB is a close second on the wrist. Thanks brother Quote:
The Everose Rolex market ain’t what it used to be. Well that and everything else but RG over the last 6 months or so has went to the moon imo which makes it that much harder. But if I ever get the call or text I will amend my “done” statement. Most importantly with these 5 I’m not anxious on getting the call or actually any call. It’s a great feeling And a big thanks to everyone who took the time to read all this

Very nice, my friend.
RG is such a nice metal, so warm and appealing. Looks and feels like you're wearing gold, but without screaming it. I started out with YG, but over the years, I've migrated most of my PM into RG and WG. And, for some reason, the EXP2 just fits in there so well. An outstanding group, to be sure. |
